Also, I think my computer wants to watch the Doctor Who finale even more than I do; the download just broke 600k/s.

Anyone wanna watch Canada's U-20 soccer team take on Congo this Thursday at Commonwealth? I'm not sure, but the ticket may even include the following match between Chile and Austria and, with service charge, comes out to $30 for the good seats (row 6).

Let me know soon; I want to go, but not alone.

Jon says:

Tjarnquist still isn't healthy and will need another surgery to repair his hip problems. He probably won't play anywhere this year.

Of course, "Jon" isn't exactly a journal-level reference, but it seems to fit with what I recall about his status at the end of last season ("pubic bone", etc.) It seems likely that he's not going to be around next year.

Where are you getting this Tjarnqvist out from Par? I have yet too run into that rumor anywhere. The Oilers are so desperate for D there's no way we're not making him a pitch. Not unless we sign three good D-men in the next week anyway.

The fact that he's not in a lot of people's depth charts is more of a response to the fact that he's injured a lot rather than the fact that he's not coming back.

Mind you, we have his rights and we havn't signed him yet. I perhaps think you may be on to something... Damnit

I really need to stop thinking this thing through

Tjärnqvist out, Tarnstrom in?

Hooray, all the Oilers' defense woes are over!!

knitting has nothing to do with deet. since the world has not returned to normality, I am not at knitting. Instead, I went on a walk with my mother, and thusly had to drench myself in insect repellent.

Yeah, sorry about the late posting; I thought we weren't doing it, but Jere wanted to give it a go.

As for the day of the week, it used to be Monday, but I was under the impression that that was overtaken by other events. I'm open to suggestions, of course.

But what does knitting have to do with deet?

not that I really have jumped into this, but...

someone posted a story about the Benoit killings before the police found the bodies on Wikipedia.

um... ditto on the Beck comment... Thursday is knitting night (once the world has returned to normality), and thusly I won't be able to partake.

I'd also like to comment on the timing of said announcement, no less than 1 1/2 hours prior to showing. I may pop by, if I don't still overpoweringly smell like deet, but don't count on it.

When did bad movie night move to Thursdays? That totally doesn't work for me.

In other news, our neighbors live in a TARDIS. They must. The conjoining wall has, logically, a finite amount of space. They have an infinite amount of nails to hammer into it, and are somehow finding room, as they are into their second consecutive week with no end in sight. The inside must be bigger than the outside - it's dimensionally transcendental. Are they renovation Time Lords?
