Paras, I believe you're getting your terminology confused. There's nothing intelligent about that design.

What the fuck is this blizzard everyone's talking about? When the fuck can I get a wii with the weather channel around here??? I've been hearing people talk about this blizzard bullshit for the last week and have yet to see any evidence of said weather.

Man, I just started listening to the game (btw, the Oilers' website puts up intermission highlights before the game is even over). Four rookie defensemen + Bergeron = bad hoodoo. Here's hoping they don't blow this one-goal lead...

(And, Alison, it's not a coincidence; I believe it's called intelligent design.)

EDIT: Apparently they read my posts. 3-2 Final. w00t.

PlateWire.com:

PlateWire is a public repository and electronic forum of drivers by drivers. Using a drivers license plate, commuters can communicate their thoughts and feelings in regards to driving on today's roadways.

Quick browse of the Alberta section brought up this gem:
Searching inside your car while on the road (including waiting a red light to turn green) is unacceptable and it is simply lack of common sense. It takes your eyes what's more imporant than doing your personal business (including talking on the phone while driving). Do not bring disgrace to RL drivers. If you can't handle an Acura RL, consider switching to a smaller car that takes up less space and use less gas.

It's passed now, but for future reference:

A Blizzard Warning is issued when winds of 40 km/h or more, are expected to cause widespread reductions in visibilities to less than one kilometre, due to blowing snow, for at least four to six hours.

Good to know.

how often does one get to see this

as the "current weather" icon?
it kind-of makes the blizzard more special... somehow
don't you think?

stay warm out there everyone!

Xkcd points to the MacRumors forum reaction to the iPod announcement five years ago as a note of caution when speculating about the impact of announcements from the Reality Distortion Field.

Nevertheless, the iPhone does look interesting -- if for no other reason than they have done away with that frivolity of portable devices: buttons.

At the moment, it's not something that I would necessarily be looking at for myself; any PDA-like device I'd be buying in the short term would have to be able to give me quick access to some absurd amount of medical information. If and when that were to become possible with this device, though, I'd look at it very seriously.

One wonders, though, how long it would take before that screen (which is used for viewing one's pretty portable video) becomes pocket-scratched and fingerprint-y.
