Canada's Cultural Capital 2007
It was announced by Canadian Heritage at City Hall on Monday that Edmonton has been designated Cultural Capital of Canada 2007. This is a major recognition at a national level , bringing funding up to $2 M to our city. "Cultural activity and awareness has exploded in the city since Mayor Stephen Mandel took office..." wrote the Edmonton Journal on December 18.
