as i said earlier: i really wish all these awesome events weren't happening right now seeing as i have far too much work to take care of to even think of a social life...
maybe thursday next week...
in the meantime, though, i bought a ticket to the SO4 show happening this NYE at the citadel. . . . . . o o o o o o o o . . . . . . is anyone else going to it? i mean, i'm not going alone, i'm going with friends from my hipster/hippie/feminist circle of buds, but if others are there, it'd be good to share at least a clink of the glasses come midnight...

No, nothing Lineage related. More late-night-internet-purchase-related. Not a five-year commitment though (at least, I don't think so....)

i don't know what it is... here i am, the 20-something, who, by all intents and purposes, should be more extravagant and careless with my spending (because I don't know better, yet), and i'm the one worried about my parents quick decision on this.
hell, they spend more time shopping for cars, and they only stick with them for 5-10 years... so this whole locked in 5 year direct interac withdrawal deal should have been a well-thought-over, comparison-shopped thing. i think they treated my cousin (when he was a vacuum salesman) with more caution than this guy. and it was for power and natural gas... that's a load of money.
my mom's ALWAYS complaining about the gas/electricity bills... and if this new deal locks them in at a HIGHER rate, what then? oops, too late now...? for fuck's sake. at least take the brochure and wait a day or two... don't impulse buy your home utilities.

Direct energy are basically hosers who sell you contracts but no service. They don't own any power or utility services in this province. They act as deal brokers between you and a power company. They give the apperance of competition.

Parents never follow their own rules. That's why it sucks so much being a teenager. It's not the control they have over your life, it's that they expect from you what they don't do themselves. Also, I'm betting that the hustler was a direct energy guy. Why they were ever let into the Alberta system is beyond me. Just one example!
Ok, one more
Just goes to show you who is actually in control in this province though. For those of you who actually wonder who that is, it's those people with all the money. But enough pointing out the sad truth and more studying.
