Holy shit, this is a ridiculous campaign ad. How can you play the scary campaign music while accusing your opponent of exploiting fear?
Oh, btw, that's an ad for the Canadian byelection in London North Centre. We really do adopt only the best from the States.

The guy on the poster said Hollywood where the ocean meets the sand, but the kid goes to all those other Hollywoods anyway.

Gah. Lousy popular movies selling out two hours in advance. Perhaps we try again another time.
Speaking of movies that will, in all likelihood, kick ass, some D action, courtesy of the Internets (it couldn't possibly be a marketing ploy by New Line, that would be silly):

I like how that article about the oceans says that there will be no more seafood, as opposed to saying there will be no more sealife. (But I bet more people will read it this way.)

Seafood may be a thing of the past by 2048!
This doens't really affect most of you since most of you are allergic to some form of seafood or are vegetarian. This just affects the 5 of us omnivore weirdoes.

This came to me off of the CJSR listserv just a little while ago. Sounds pretty interesting:
Hi CJSRians. Congrats again on another fantastic Fundrive.
I bring you news of a new venue for art and music in Edmonton.
KHz (pronounced Killahertz), is a 2200 square foot space that used to be the
old Shark Tank on 97st downtown.
I've been working on renovating it for the past couple of months and I'm
throwing my first un-official party there this friday. I say un-official
because the firt official party down there is on November 3rd. But before the
3rd, I wanted to test out the room for sound and drunk people. I know its short
notice, and halloween weekend, but this party just came out of nowhere. I've
got a pretty ecclectic mix of DJ's for the night planned:
CameronSound - Downtempo, Hip Hop, Ecclectic beats
Cool Hand Luke - Garage, House, Breaks
Celcius - Jungle Drum'n'Bass
T-Power (no shit!) - Live Jungle/Breaks set
Dane - Minimal
The night will start at 10pm and go till 3am. This party was supposed to be a
glorified soundcheck for the Nov 3rd party, but when legendary producer T-Power
volunteered to Dj, I thought we should probably turn it into a party. No cover,
but there will be a donation jar at the door. This will be a licensed event, so
18+ only.
I will be renting this venue out to promoters, and I am interested in throwing
all kinds of parties with 'creative individuals'. If you feel the need to get
your voice out, but lack a proper venue; perhaps you should and check out my
space. The venue itself is underneath Treehouse Records at 10249 - 97st
(basement). I'm also still looking for some furnishing for the club, so if your
looking to get rid of any tables, chairs, or seats/sofa's; let me know.
Feel free to email with any further questions
Thanks,
CameronSound
