This came to me off of the CJSR listserv just a little while ago. Sounds pretty interesting:
Hi CJSRians. Congrats again on another fantastic Fundrive.
I bring you news of a new venue for art and music in Edmonton.
KHz (pronounced Killahertz), is a 2200 square foot space that used to be the
old Shark Tank on 97st downtown.
I've been working on renovating it for the past couple of months and I'm
throwing my first un-official party there this friday. I say un-official
because the firt official party down there is on November 3rd. But before the
3rd, I wanted to test out the room for sound and drunk people. I know its short
notice, and halloween weekend, but this party just came out of nowhere. I've
got a pretty ecclectic mix of DJ's for the night planned:
CameronSound - Downtempo, Hip Hop, Ecclectic beats
Cool Hand Luke - Garage, House, Breaks
Celcius - Jungle Drum'n'Bass
T-Power (no shit!) - Live Jungle/Breaks set
Dane - Minimal
The night will start at 10pm and go till 3am. This party was supposed to be a
glorified soundcheck for the Nov 3rd party, but when legendary producer T-Power
volunteered to Dj, I thought we should probably turn it into a party. No cover,
but there will be a donation jar at the door. This will be a licensed event, so
18+ only.
I will be renting this venue out to promoters, and I am interested in throwing
all kinds of parties with 'creative individuals'. If you feel the need to get
your voice out, but lack a proper venue; perhaps you should and check out my
space. The venue itself is underneath Treehouse Records at 10249 - 97st
(basement). I'm also still looking for some furnishing for the club, so if your
looking to get rid of any tables, chairs, or seats/sofa's; let me know.
Feel free to email with any further questions
Thanks,
CameronSound

You know, Alison, I think I know why your water tastes like marijuana:
First, taking into account an article written by David Shukman of the BBC, entitled "Addressing China's climate challenge", which brings up the old fear of China giving asthma to the children of North America, one may receive the image of the Earth being smoked.
Observe:
Now, if we consider where China is on the drawing and how Alison is floating somewhere in space...then I can suggest that Alison is located near the butt of this massive smoke, visually represented as Earth.... Why am I doing this?

next halloween I'm going wherever you go, Jsese.
Also, at work tonight, apparently playing the newest versions of 2 unreleased video-games and eating pizza for 3 hours (while getting paid) wasn't enough. They decided that I should take more work home with me so they gave this:
It's a tough job, but somehow I make do.

I'm not sure if I was just naive? last minute I got talked into going to Ezzies last night for their halloween thing. last minute as in I had time to drive there from my soccer game and that is all. therefore didn't have any sort of costume and promptly improvised by stealing decorations off of the wall so that I was able to pretend to some exent that I had a costume. some people bought it, others not so much. but that is an aside. back to my naiveté. womens costumes have simply become an excuse to dress like a slut. I've seen less skin on most beaches. It was to the extent that a bra and panties would seem modest to me. I'm not sure if I'm trying to take the moral high ground here because I did have a gerat time last night, yet it seemed very over the top. oh well, on one side they all should have been 18 at least. was halloween always like this? or was I just at the wrong parties all along?
