That's a quirk of the event scheme. I'm trying to get it to not display things that are too far off, but to still display everything that someone has added themselves. (As an aside, no one else sees that your birthday is next.) I've got to overhaul that whole thing, so it'll get fixed then.

The google search thing is pretty sweet, though. Like leveling up or something. (Better bump up the quote on the kennel).

Richard Branson pledges $3B to fight climate change:

Branson, the billionaire behind the multi-platform Virgin brand, said the money would come from 100 percent of the profits generated by his transportation sectors -- trains and airline companies.

Now that raises an interesting dilemma. If the profits from his airlines are going towards climate change research, at what point does flying Virgin Atlantic become a net positive in the fight against climate change? Or does it? Or is it just a cheap ploy to get people to fly with his airline? Questions abound.

Is the next major event really my birthday?!?

In other news, Clever Name web design fulfills a promise!

Google the words "scuba diving edmonton" and you'll see that 5th on that list is a site of our creation! (well... redesign). It didn't show up before and we promised to increase the rank. w00t!

Now everybody repeatedly google it and click on the Sub Sea Experience link to boost it some more... or don't.

So, real news. Longtime Edmonton weatherman Bill Matheson passes away at 80.

I still vividly remember the "Idaho High", crazy drawings on the map (he must have been the last holdout before the green-screen weather reporter) and, of course "That's the weather for this evening... Good evening!"

Well it differs for every person I guess. I think it is fair wages (as far as salary go for engineers, it is above avaerage), actually more then fair, throw on benefits and I'm pretty happy. I mean the work isn't bad, the people are great and I can't see anything wrong. I can't see why people would leave, but then again I'm not them, they had their reasons.

back in town for a couple days. anything going on? ciao

Al, if you think you are being treated fairly, then keep on keepin on. if you feel that there is merit in what your former co-workers have done, and that they are making more for the same thing. you may want to let your boss know, or do as they did and seek greener pastures. if company loyalty is hindering you from making what you deserve, then they are taking advantage of you and your loyalty. don't burn any bridges on your way up though. think it through, and do what will work for you.
