Jess, you appear to have editted your message into blank-ness. I've reverted it though. Unfortunately, because of how my code works and because they haven't restored shell access to the server, you won't be able to edit that same message again. Sorry.

Bonfire!

At Jess' house, 8pm Saturday night. I will have s'mores, pop, and jiffy popcorn, if you want anything else you'd better bring it yourself. If it's raining we'll have to find something else to do.

Pass the word along.

dimitri came back with some crazy stories about Burningman. Peep this shit:

The Belgian Waffle at Burning Man 2006

It took 3 weeks to build on site in the desert, the wood came from canada via truck. It has raised the 'ante' in the burning man 'arts-arms-race' to all new highs & sizes. It cost $400,000 to build / transport / feed & house the crew and structure. Its quite possibly the most interesting architectural structure ever made at burning man, the temples are great and all but frankly seem somewhat formulaic in light of this. And they burnt it down.

Second night in Florence, and it has been absolutely amazing. Such a beautiful city! Saw the Ponte Vecchio and the Galeria dell'Academia today, and tomorrow the Uffizi. One more full day before it's time to move on to Austria. It'll be interesting to see what a new language and cultural group has in store for us. Hopefully at the very least the train system will be better.

Oh, and I apologize to anyone who was trying the board overnight. My hosting company was having issues. The response to the email I sent this morning:

We are sorry for inconviniece caused .

The server faced a problem with HardDisk , it has been sorted now.

I've been having problems for a couple weeks now, but I'm continuing to rag on them so, hopefully, service will be more reliable in the future.

From The Edmonton Sun today:

  • Lupul set to sign three-year deal today:
After prolonged discussions between Oilers assistant GM Scott Howson and agent Peter Semonick yesterday, indications are the sides are close enough that the announcement of a three-year deal, believed to be worth just under $7 million, will come today.

The ink will be dry before the team opens training camp in Grande Prairie Thursday.

  • 'I'd like to stay':
Having taken 10 seasons and, most recently, 24 hours to get here, Petr Sykora says he'd like to put down roots in the City of Champions with the Edmonton Oilers.
    ...

Having spent three summers here as a teenager, Sykora knows the city well. Likewise, the silky smooth forward knows this is a hockey town. That appeals to him. He sees a match here for himself and wife Renata.

  • Given recent experience, I'll bet Oilers fans will put a little more emphasis on those last three words...
