uh, *cough* what the heck are they going to do if the entire team catches the flu? Torres and Bergeron out, Horcoff was playing a little sluggish, and they commented on how Smith would likely be taken away from the game in an ambulance to be rehydrated. great. yet, the score was what? i know, don't gloat, it could be dangerous. PLEASE don't get the flu, Oilers!
also, please don't get the flu, alison (though, less of a priority, right now, somehow). apparently my father (who forgot to mention this) has been consistently under the weather for two weeks. i don't know if that means i've caught something, or been a conduit of illness (sorry y'all), but i sure have become rather achy and unsettled.... damn. i don't want to discover my illness on a 10-hour drive to northern alberta. well, here's hoping it's all psychosomatic, that getting some rest will take care of it, and that the Oilers will be in top form for Tuesday's game (which i'll watch in the "Las Vegas of the North," excellent)

On second thought Tay, what happened at the party after Ed and Mary left, should stay at the party. I think they'll have enough questions when they see my Quad-cigar picture.

Ed and Mary, ditto on everyone else's comments: you looked so wonderfully happy last night. And we are all so incredibly proud of you. Thank you both for inviting us to celebrate with you yesterday. Like Taylor said, the highlight definitely was seeing the joy glowing on your faces.
um, and for the sake of not posting again and again... WHAT?? someone's taken Matty's play and turned it into a movie?? uh, except for the basketball stuff... Thievery!
and, i dunno what that Anaheim writer is complaining about. if i was a goalie and i'd gotten an assist, i'd've celebrated too. that's not so much excessive hubris as it is a straight celebration... it's not like all the other hockey players don't do it...

-Tay maybe you should refresh my mind on what I did last night that would make you jealous.
-Congratualtions to Ed and Mary on their wedding and their marriage!
-I'd have to say best party ever! Except they kicked us out too early.

Hope all had a great time last night. It definitely sounds like it. But now, there remain some important matters on the horizon...
Can bitterness ooze? An Anaheim sportswriter takes a shot at the feat:
Will someone tell Edmonton goaltender Dwayne Roloson that he needs a lot of work on his Steve Nash impersonation? And that it's called showing off when a goalie gets in the scoring column?
Guess it doesn't matter, because the cheaters - excuse me, the visitors - pulled a fast one on the Mighty Ducks on Friday night enroute to a 3-1 victory in the series opener at The Pond.
...
[Scott] Niedermayer was quick to disagree with my assessment, pointing out the Ducks tied the score 28 seconds later on an Andy McDonald slap shot that appeared to deflect off an Edmonton stick before nicking the crossbar and going into the net.
"You know, we responded well with a goal right away on the power play," Niedermayer said afterward, alluding to Roloson's chicanery.
