..... An octopus was thrown onto the ice near Roloson when the U.S. anthem finished, and Oilers forward Brad Winchester was prepared. He had a plastic baggie on his hand under his glove. He picked the octopus up and took it to his team's bench, where the training staff was waiting with a box .....

how angry am i? it's hard to articulate, but how about this?
<------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
I am really pissed off. actually, I think the correct way to describe this would be disappointed and frustrated to the point that I'm debating just not going along with my supervisor's wishes. how's that? I'm too angry to actually want to sit and type. I want to yell, but of course, my superivsor isn't around to talk to, aggitatedly or otherwise.
Who the hell, on Saturday, decides that we'll all be meeting at 7:30 am Monday morning to then drive out to Conklin and thinks that that's okay? Oh, and then on top of it, does not respond to e-mails that come in after that inquiring about the actual feasibility of said departure.
When I signed up for this particular program, I was under the impression that Supervisor 1 was in charge mostly by name only, and that Supervisor 2 (who can't be a supervisor all on his own just yet) was going to handle all the organisation stuff etc. But noooo, Supervisor 1 is in charge right now, and he apparently doesn't have the decency to plan and/or inform his employees of upcoming events until we're less than 3 days away from them. (Okay, slight exaggeration, thus far, it's been half a week-ish advance notice, including weekends). What does he think we're going to do? jump at the opportunity to search high and low for a vehicle to rent, rooms to book and equipment to gather in order to actually go on his last-minute trips? Especially when he doesn't come.
Okay, honestly, what is really frustrating me the most right now is that I have sent two or three e-mails that have yet to receive actual responses. This is over the span of 2-3 weeks. The e-mails aren't things like, "should I take a first aid course," but more like "what am I supposed to be doing in the field with respect to my study?" Stuff that's actually important to the success of both my field season and my masters' study.Where does he get off thinking that it's okay to just assume I have enough things to do in the field (in order to justify sending me away this week on what looks to be a rather useless trip thus far) when he, so far, hasn't deigned to respond to my questions?
If this keeps up, I'm going to seriously rethink this program. I feel like he's giving his other students way more attention than he's bothering to give me. Sure, I was sick, but so what? I have e-mail. And even though I wasn't really able to look at the computer for any extended length of time, I did make an effort to check to see if anything had been sent my way (especially after sending a "please let me know in advance of any more field trips" e-mail), yet nothing was sent. I don't get it.
