Shit, I got fuckered last night though...
I was so fuckered I had to leave my friggin van parked behind some sketchy downtown bar. Shite. Good times though. It was worth it.
Speaking of the Refused, is anyone going to t(i)nc? I figure I should probably go since they were absolutely killer the last two times I saw them.

Is Canada ready to have an Italian Parliamentary MP?
Italian politics are screwed up. Apparently his riding consists of 16 countries.
(Although spending 50k CAD on a campaign and landing yourself a job that pays 200k euros a year... sounds pretty sweet)

Is Italy ready for a communist trans-gender MP?:
Vladimir Luxuria, who is set to become Italy's first trans-gender member of parliament, has learned to look his detractors "straight in the eye" and get on with the causes dear to his heart.
"Obviously I want to fight a lot of things, starting with everything the right has done these last years," the performer and gay rights activist told AFP. "I want to help build a multi-ethnic, multisexual society, and showcase diversity as a value and an opportunity, not a threat."
Born Wladimiro Guadagno, the 40-year-old Luxuria's candidacy in the elections, standing for the Refounded Communist Party (PRC), is sending chills through a broadly conservative nation with no dearth of machismo.
...
The insults have reached fever pitch in the run-up to the elections Sunday and Monday.
Alessandra Mussolini, the granddaughter of the late dictator, said on a television program: "Better to be fascist than queer."

I don't know if you'll still be able to see this picture, but this was the idea for my next Grand Arms. Unfortunately some japanese Gundam Wing fan drew his Gundam version of my idea. Damn beaten to the punch again.

oh, and guess who just got a blood blister... me! wooooo.....
because... I was fending off my brother, like usual when we battle on the staircase, and I managed to snap the railing, pinching my finger in the process. I broke the bannister. I didn't know that was even possible... and I wasn't pusing hard on it or anything either. uh, I guess it's a good thing my folks are planning on having the house painted this summer.... new railing!

so, uh, guess who's going to Conklin next week!!! yeah! me, that's who! wooo......
what kind of a supervisor comes in on a wednesday afternoon and says "what are you doing next week? any important stuff in the lab? Want to go to Conklin?" So... I'm going to Conklin. Not only did he not initially say what day the trip would be on, but he failed to mention that it would in fact be for multiple days. And that's all he gave me to go on. wtf?
He's the kind of person whom you know has a whole ton of stuff going on upstairs, but very little of it actually gets out the door. This could be an interesting year (uh, two or three) if things are going to continually be non-planned and silently hemmed and hawed about without actually informing me of what is occurring (when it affects me, of course). I already know I can be rather, um, obtuse when it comes to reading the minds of other people, but if the success of my study relies on this style of communication, I am going to become an even more grumpy, cranky jerk. sweet. or, maybe that'll only be the field seasons. And thus far, my field season appears to promise a number of ups and downs, so I think I'll be okay. ... so long as I get to work a lot with the summer student we've hired. ah... hmm... haha! (so long as I don't have to be his ta come autumn!)
