meh, You know, Eric, it was a welcome break from sitting around wondering what to do. I would not have had a happy evening if I'd stayed at home, and nothing changed in the time I was away (I still got home before my folks)... so yeah, all in all I had a good time, don't worry about it. Oh, and giving my Dad the choice of what kind of cake/pie to bake was good... he seemed pleased to have that option. (I baked him a flapper (custard) pie today and he seemed to be in 7th heaven). so all in all, things worked out.
though, I guess, my Grandma's driving the hospital staff crazy... constantly hitting her nurse call button even though nothing is wrong, panicking at the slightest thing... and she's developed a rather big liking to her pain killers. she panics, she treats people like shit, demands people do things like fluff her pillows as though her existence would be terminated without that aid... I just don't know any more. She doesn't care what anyone is up to, we can't distract her, stories don't cut it and she sure doesn't do anything of her own any more (no books, no nothing). What do you do with a woman who only thinks of death? - to the exclusion of everything else.
So, uh, yeah, what can I say? In summation, things are a little tenuous at the moment, but distraction is always good... and it was really great to see you guys play, and see Our Mercury too. I haven't been to a punk show... ever, perhaps... haha, that's not true, but it almost felt like that last night. I'm glad I got to go.

and search them out. there's some tracks floating around. there's a particularly good remix of Tony the Beat by Brooklyn Fire out right now. they're older album was actually pretty good too, but people passed it off as being too derivative. *shrug

"The Joy of Painting" with Bob Ross video game?
The Bob Ross video game, currently untitled, is planned to be developed for PC, the Nintendo DS handheld & on Nintendo's next-gen system coming later this year, code named Revolution. Release date was not announced. AGFRAG is currently seeking a publisher.
AGFRAG's Director of Development, Joseph Hatcher, has this to say about the announcement:
"I grew up watching Bob Ross on PBS and was always in awe of how quickly and smoothly he made these beautiful paintings, which helped inspire my creativity. There are generations that know Bob Ross and his painting techniques, and I want to share his talent with future generations in a new medium.
The Bob Ross game will utilize the unique inputs that the Nintendo DS and Nintendo Revolution have that can truly immerse the players while they learn to paint like Bob Ross and can play the addictive and fun games that we have planned for the title. I believe that Bob Ross Inc's and AGFRAG Entertainment Group's similar beliefs in independence, creativity, and teaching others will benefit how the game is developed and how the players of all ages will be able to enjoy this game.

Oh, snap! Microsoft Buys OpenOffice.org!:
For an undisclosed sum reputed to be in the billions, Microsoft's Bill Gates has personally bought the leading open-source desktop project. Saying he "was sick and tired of open-source eating away at his profits," the world's richest man decided to put an end to the nuisance and simply buy OpenOffice.org. It will form part of a growing list of Microsoft acquisitions, including several erstwhile competitors, a considerable number of prominent politicians, and a few small governments.

Taylor..you sick, BRILLIANT man. I just clicked that bad boy..it's like seeing an old friend again. The best part? I'm at work. The bestest part? My supervisor was lookiing at the screen as I clicked it. Fortunately for me, all those years of looking at porn has given me God like skills at quickly pushing the 'back' button.
