well... great... my grandma's in the hospital again. And there really isn't anything I can do, but ... should I go out? should I stay home? What is the protocol on these things? She's in emergency, my uncle and aunt are with her, they're going to call us when she gets moved to a real room, but until then, there's no point clogging up emergency. So the question becomes one more of ethics than anything else. Do I take the possibly already existing ticket I have (i'll pay for it either way) and see the Daggers et al. tonight, or do I stay at home in case the phone rings. Oh, plus my folks are returning tonight from their trip to Mexico. and I really doubt I'll get home before them (if I go to the show)... so how ethical would it be to just leave a note "by the way, Grandma's in the hospital"

I think what's bothering me the most about this particular ethical dilemma as opposed to the one last weekend where she was previously in the hospital... is that the doctors have basically said she's on the precipice. She's got pneumonia now on top of all the rest of her ailments, so, uh, do I go out or stay home? ... because it isn't necessarily just "by the way Grandma's in the hospital" it's more like "by the way, she's probably going to be dead in a week" so... fuck. welcome home, Mom and Dad.

so, once again Daggers... y'all are playing at the Edmonton Public Library??
I don't think I can pass that up. fuck the birthday cake I'm supposed to make.

and, yes, you caught me. I was on Terra Informa of the illustrious cjsr. I have a friend on Adamant Eve who's trying to get me to do something too... perhaps one day I'll learn how to use the equipment... So, seeing as I didn't have access to a radio and/or computer with speakers, did it sound okay? I didn't come off as a total fool, did I?

oh, and, if you ever want to see an incredibly moving documentary about Iraq, just let me know (though I may force it on a few of you just for good measure!), Michael Franti made one about the people, about the bombings, about Israel and Palestine too, and it is well worth the time spent watching it. As was spending the evening at the Horowitz well worth watching it, and hearing a few songs, singing along and getting a hug (!!). but, uh, I think I'm rethinking my attendance at Jello Biafra. thankfully there's still a few days... but after Angela Davis (y'all should've seen her too) and Franti, i think i need to figure out what it is I want to do instead of have more ideas and motivations crammed into my mind.
