so, once again Daggers... y'all are playing at the Edmonton Public Library??
I don't think I can pass that up. fuck the birthday cake I'm supposed to make.
and, yes, you caught me. I was on Terra Informa of the illustrious cjsr. I have a friend on Adamant Eve who's trying to get me to do something too... perhaps one day I'll learn how to use the equipment... So, seeing as I didn't have access to a radio and/or computer with speakers, did it sound okay? I didn't come off as a total fool, did I?
oh, and, if you ever want to see an incredibly moving documentary about Iraq, just let me know (though I may force it on a few of you just for good measure!), Michael Franti made one about the people, about the bombings, about Israel and Palestine too, and it is well worth the time spent watching it. As was spending the evening at the Horowitz well worth watching it, and hearing a few songs, singing along and getting a hug (!!). but, uh, I think I'm rethinking my attendance at Jello Biafra. thankfully there's still a few days... but after Angela Davis (y'all should've seen her too) and Franti, i think i need to figure out what it is I want to do instead of have more ideas and motivations crammed into my mind.

Mexican Coke: The 'Real Thing?':
"Mexican Coke is selling like crazy bro, and I can't keep up," says Rudy Mendoza of El Gordo Taqueria on Main Street. Last week the 20-something Mendoza, Salinas born and bred, was cursing the underground distributor under his breath as the slightly green tinted bottles, with the words "Hecho en Mexico," started to disappear from his refrigerator.
In somewhat of a conundrum, the Atlanta-based Coca-Cola Co. has condemned the recent imports across the country as a form of "bootlegging."
But at the same time the company has recognized that it would be remiss if it overlooked the Mexican pop craze, which is why it is now buying Coca-Cola in bottles from Mexico and importing them to Texas and Southern California, two of the largest Mexican markets in the country, according to Mart Martin, a spokesman for Coca-Cola's North American division in Atlanta.
"We believe that the appeal of Mexican Coke is as much about nostalgia as it is about anything," says Martin. "It's like getting a piece of home in a bottle. You can't deny the fact that it's in a tall glass bottle, something you just can't find in most parts of the United States."
But it's the "same exact product," and Mexican bottlers are buying the ingredients straight from the company, says Martin.
"It's not like they're stirring it up in some backyard," he adds. "Coke is Coke is Coke."
...
Yet there is one kicker, and it's a fairly large one: Mexican Coke may contain the same secret syrup, but its sweetener is entirely different.
It's made from sugar cane, not corn syrup.
I don't know what's more strange: Coca-cola re-importing its own product for sale in the US, or a guy named Mart Martin. I mean, is "Mart" even a name? I always thought it was just a suffix for "K", "Wal", or "S".

hmmmm. why is it that all day when there were many poaple working and I could go, I didn't have to. Now that I am by myself, I can barely contain myself? oh well... at least a pretty girl has come in and started talking to me. sorta takes my mind off of the urgent. only an hour and a half to go till relief!!! gotta be careful, it is spring break. I must be wary. she might not be as old as she seems.
in other matters, I am going to a 80s themed pub crawl on friday for a birthday (sorry daggers), and am not sure how I want to approach this; punk, new wave, glam rock, Indiana Jones, Marty McFlyesq, Sparkling silver glove a la Micheal, short shorts a la Gene Simmons. or just simply find anything acid washed!!! so many options, such bad taste!
