so, I apparently have Bursitis in my knee. excellent. Although every time I think of what the word is, all that comes to mind is Brucellosis which not much more than cattle and bison tend to get, thankfully... stupid washing tree roots, how am I supposed to avoid all kneeling and bumping of my knee? it fucking hurts.

oh, uh, in response to the other things, um...

Congratulations Nate and Lisel! I'm super happy for you.
Rough break, Jesse, I hope that ankle heals quickly.
And... good luck Jess! there's so much fun out there to be had... if you can get past the jobs you need to work to afford it ;) ... or you could just delay entry into the 'real world' and go back to school a'la moi. hee hee

and... perhaps, eventually, I'll opine on religion, spirituality and science... but in the meantime, I will leave you with this quotation from a book I'm reading:

Under British rule, Kenyans were told that their religion was immoral and their traditional crops were backward. From a priest friend of Wangari's [Maathai] we learn that, upon discovering that the local word for "prayer" meant something akin to celebration, the colonialists were appalled. They taught the Kenyans a new word which carries a meaning closer to "beg." Suddenly prayer shifted from celebration to supplication. And traditional foods? Africa's cereals were often relegated to categories with pejorative connotations, referred to as "coarse grains," "minor crops," or "famine foods." Later, multinational companies, eager to unload Western grains surpluses, sold Africans on the notion that crops unsuited to Africa, like wheat, were superior. One ad directed at parents read, "He'll be smart. He'll go far. He'll eat bread." ~ Frances Moore Lappé

not because it's about religion per se, nor spirituality, but the misguided use of so-called religious principles for the manipulation of others... and where it can lead to further manipulations.

Pending building inspection, Lisel and I have a house! Saying that as a homeowner is a little less nerve wracking than saying it as a person tentatively bidding on a house. Thought I should pass it around and break my oath of silence on the message bored. Enjoy You say party we say die, I will hold my commentary on Controller controller since I would probly sound whicked elderly. House is Greenfield, not yet on the market, 1100 sq ft on the main floor, mostly finished basement, most appliances. It burns so good... Methinks I R still in shock, time to go drink some more.

Hey I'm just on my way out to work and I don't have time to read all your posts... but if anyone needs a lifetime seasons pass to any and all ski hills in the world give me a shout. I recently acquired one that I for some reason don't want. Oh, also it must be used by tomorrow night or it vanishes.

Off to work... ttyl
