Doesn't sound like anything new that Google is currently doing to evade taxes.

Google wants to keep as much profit as they can. Tax laws don't work for them here try something else.

Google only pays 2.4% tax in the US

I read somewhere that CIBC does the same thing here and pays only about 5% effective tax. I had an argument with Mary about it because she didn't think it was possible. I can't find the original CIBC article but it is definitely possible.
