I may need one of these: Datexx SuperBattery. It's a hand-crank charger for any device with a USB cable. Only $40...

Looks like things went well.

Also, that was one hell of a two-part Doctor Who.

And for those who know him, I should really show you the program from Anish's wedding. Very few people, I think, would be able to sneak the word 'n00b' in there, yet he managed it somehow.

HOLY SHIT PARAS!!! I haven't seen that cartoon since I was a kid, and I always wondered about that applecore thing too! I have it on VHS at my parents house and I used to watch it OVER AND OVER AND OVER. I always thought it went like this:

"applecore"
"Mortimore" (like a person's name)
"who's your friend?"
"me!".

And I never knew why they did that in all these years. And I always wondered who "Mortimore" was (though in your case you apparently interpreted it as Baltimore). Recently I was thinking about the applecore thing again and I decided that it wasn't "mortimore" like the name but really the french words "morte amour" as in "death/love". I ended up using those words in a song that I wrote a few months ago and it all stems from that Donald Duck cartoon. Here are the lyrics:

All my friends are either dead or dying
and those alive are not for lack of trying.
Sympathy is the only thing worth seeking
but every step my bones defy me creaking.
Another step, this watery grave is leaking
through the cracks of time in which we're peeking.
So you take the stage at your solo show
and the audience is talking.
The lights are bright and the crowd below
is an ocean slowly rocking.
And you sing "O Mort Amour, the Skull-Borne Mare!
Thou art the Specter slowly stalking" (me).
We are either dead or dying.
And you close your eyes as you feel the wave
and the math starts interlocking.
We are either One or nothing.

It's funny how things come full-circle like this. I thought I was the only one who was mystified by an applecore game from an old donald duck cartoon. Too weird!

Paras - now that you have figured that out - what will you ever do with your days?

Sorry I couldn't make it. Painting beckoned.

I did manage to finally sort out something that had been bothering me for a while. Applecore:

Wikipedia:
"Apple core" is a children's game and prank that was popular among schoolchildren in the United States in the middle of the 20th century.

The game proceeds as follows: a child finishes eating an apple, then displays the core for the other children to see. The child then says "apple core!"

One of the other children replies: "Nevermore" or "Say No More"

The first child then responds: "Who's your friend?"

And the second child responds with the name of another child in the group.

Upon hearing the name of the "friend", the first child then throws the apple core at the named child as he yells, "Not no more!"

The origin of the game, like many schoolyard games, is obscure.

Although Donald Duck initially, apparently, responds with "Baltimore" for some reason.

I was just about to say that it's surprisingly still not raining but then it immediately started raining.

That is some hella impressive lightning though! I've got a good view from my downtown office and it's pretty fuckin crazy. It looks awesome because all the buildings are glass so no matter what direction the lightning is coming from I at the very least see it reflected off one or two buildings. Pretty intense.
