Sorry I couldn't make it. Painting beckoned.

I did manage to finally sort out something that had been bothering me for a while. Applecore:

Wikipedia:
"Apple core" is a children's game and prank that was popular among schoolchildren in the United States in the middle of the 20th century.

The game proceeds as follows: a child finishes eating an apple, then displays the core for the other children to see. The child then says "apple core!"

One of the other children replies: "Nevermore" or "Say No More"

The first child then responds: "Who's your friend?"

And the second child responds with the name of another child in the group.

Upon hearing the name of the "friend", the first child then throws the apple core at the named child as he yells, "Not no more!"

The origin of the game, like many schoolyard games, is obscure.

Although Donald Duck initially, apparently, responds with "Baltimore" for some reason.

I was just about to say that it's surprisingly still not raining but then it immediately started raining.

That is some hella impressive lightning though! I've got a good view from my downtown office and it's pretty fuckin crazy. It looks awesome because all the buildings are glass so no matter what direction the lightning is coming from I at the very least see it reflected off one or two buildings. Pretty intense.

Go-karts / chilis night? That actually sounds considerably tempting. Keep me up to date on this.

Liberal bill seeks to abolish cellphone surcharges:

Liberal MP David McGuinty has introduced a private member's bill in the House of Commons seeking to abolish the system access fee charged by cellphone providers and enact more rights for customers of telecommunications companies in general.

Kind of a moot point, now that there's a a service that has no system access fees. I'd say let competition take care of it at this point.

But this:
McGuinty said the idea for the act came to him about eight months ago when his daughter got her first cellphone bill, which had more than $50 of extra charges for unsolicited text messages she had received. He found the extra-charge provision buried in the fine print of her contract and tried to end the service, only to encounter stiff cancellation fees and the revelation that his daughter's expensive phone wouldn't work on another carrier's network.

"It was then that I began to understand that this was a huge problem in Canada," he said, adding that such terms affect not only consumers but small businesses, as well. "This is a much, much bigger question than just hidden charges."

Sure, you've spent $120/annum for years on this, but he just had to cough up 50 bucks! So now it's a big deal; a big enough deal that it'll take just eight months to draft the legislation.

Just ridiculous.
