In re: the aforementioned McSweeney's Sale. I'm probably going to be placing my order on Sunday. I've had one (rather enthusiastic) email order already. If you're up for some stuff, send me an email by Sunday night.

Speaking of Nazis... well, let's start from the beginning.

You may have heard about Judge Roy Pearson suing a dry cleaner for $65 million because they lost a pair of his pants. I read the headline, but brushed it off. Then there's this:

Pearson says the Chung family . . . had no intention of living up to the sign in their shop that said "Satisfaction Guaranteed." Therefore, Pearson said, he had no choice but to take on "the awesome responsibility" of suing the Chungs on behalf of every resident of the District of Columbia.

So, it's not a class-action, but he's acting as though it is. The judge in the case admonished him for using "we" when referring to the case. But then it gets better. He called as witnesses customers whose Satisfaction was not Guaranteed. One witness in particular was noteworthy for her sense of proportion and her exceptional reluctance to use even a hint of hyperbole:
Grace Hewell, a retired congressional staffer, said Jin Chung, Soo's husband, "chased me out of the store" when she complained that her suit pants "looked like they had been washed" and no longer fit properly. "At 89, I'm not ready to be chased," she said. "But I was in World War II as a WAC, so I think I can take care of myself. Having lived in Germany and knowing the people who were victims of the Nazis, I thought he was going to beat me up. I thought of what Hitler had done to thousands of Jews."

And yet, despite the already comic nature of the proceedings, it gets better still:
"These are not my pants," Pearson recalled telling Chung when she handed him a pair of gray pants with cuffs. "I have in my adult life, with one exception, never worn pants with cuffs."

"And she said, 'These are your pants.' "

Pearson paused. He struggled to breathe deeply. He could not continue. Pearson blurted a request for a break, stood up, turned around and walked out of the courtroom, tears dripping from his full and reddened eyes.

Fortunately, Mr. Pearson is not a greedy man:
The trial is expected to end today. Pearson has reduced his claim to $54 million. But he told the judge that he also wants to be awarded attorney's fees, even though he represents himself. He would like to be paid at a rate of between $390 and $425 an hour.

Bravo, sir.

I just feel sad now Tay. Not about your job, congratulations on things working out great! But how much we actually don't see each other. I probally haven't seen you since Mothra. Now you have girlfriend, new office at your job, and who knows what else. Taken altogether alot has happened and I've pretty much missed it. You shouldn't put me in the raddest friend category, I've pretty much haven't made any real effort to see you. Well don't worry about me nothing much has happened (or it has but I'm not going to tell random strangers on this board).

sweet. I'm totally posting this from my new office downtown!

3rd floor Energy Square. The big orange building on Jasper Ave. It's right between Halo/Red Star and the Boston Pizza. Next door is a law firm. This place is tight. We got our desks/computers/internet in today.

And tonight I came in after hours to set up my sound system. I bought a wicked technics receiver and a couple speakers from VV for like $20. It's awesome.

I can see Jasper ave from my window right now. Soooo rad.

We're getting proper office chairs in tomorrow. My desk is all glass and black trim. It looks classy.

Soon we're going to have a huge LCD TV delivered and video game consoles. And we're each getting these massive bean-bag chair things that can turn into futons or even couches. They're rad.

Dude from Pixeljam is in town. He flew up from San Francisco. Albert, those are the guys who made Gamma Bros!!! He's coming to our office tomorrow to learn how to use our massively multiplayer server technology!

MY JOB IS SO AWESOME. I LOVE WORK!

My life has done like a total 360 since I finished university. When I was in school, I hated waking up and leaving the house. Now it's the opposite! My job is to make video games. I have an amazing girlfriend. One of my bands is going on tour in a few months. I'm going to see the Boredoms at the end of the month in Calgary, and I'm going to see Daft Punk in Seattle at the end of July. Plus I have all the raddest friends of all time.

MY LIFE IS SO FUCKING AWESOME.

I hope shit is going well for you guys too. Any of you work downtown these days? We should do lunch meetings!!! haha I love getting strange looks from all the suits down here. It's like "I CAN BE SUCCESSFUL LIKE YOU BUT ON MY OWN TERMS". It's just so satisfying.

Okay, seriously I'm going home now. I worked 10.5 hours today and then came in again tonight to set up my speakers. It's ridiculous. I'm going home for reals now! I SWEAR!
