Albert, the big difference here, I think is this:

you're designing things on your own, and that's pretty fantastic all by itself, whether or not every design of yours merits full development and display is up to you.

when I go to a knitting website for a pattern, they should have already gone through the entire editing process of what works, what makes sense, and will other people understand it.

this is me attempting to follow someone else's instructions.

in non knitting terms, it would be like saying "to put this Ikea table together, take allan wrench and screw legs onto table, once firm, add braces and insert cross pieces." and then on the next page saying "while screwing legs onto table be sure to insert wooden shims for secure fit so that the whole thing doesn't fall apart after three weeks"

I know it's my fault for not reading the whole pattern word for word, start to finish before starting, but you'd think they'd put directions in the order you're supposed to follow.

I can say I only partially understand your pain Alison. There are many Grand Arms designs that will never see the light of day. That's many months work just sitting there in my binder waiting for me to breath life into them.

Hey Leo... it's 2 am and snowing like mad. I'm not sure I'd still want to play tomorrow.

isn't this just about the cutest little kid you've ever seen?

i'm not sure if i'm making this dress for the picture or because the dress itself should be delightful... haha (or because my mom asked)

but it's driving me crazy!! it's like trying to cook using a recipe translated (poorly) from Italian... it just isn't making any sense! aaaaa!

okay, sorry... you all don't care about this, i just needed to vent. i've ripped almost the whole thing out now, and it's so sad to see my work sit in a puddle of kinky green thread (kinky as in full of bends)

So, we're still on for paintball tomorrow, looks like things will clear up in time... that being said it will be a bit muddy...

wait, you had a monkey-ectomy and didn't tell anyone it was going to happen??

okay, um... never mind.

i'm kind-of in a euphoric state because I didn't bomb Statistics!! (despite all misgivings, and disastrous thoughts pointing in that direction)

Alright big brother is obviously watching what I type down and where I go. I just didn't know they had some betting pool on where we go and how many times we go there. Now I'm paranoid as heck.
