Man, a power-box blew up while I was at work today. It was cool. Like free fireworks shows!!! And the power went out and I got to go home a half-hour early!!! God bless you tiny mousey that snuck inside and made things blow up and go dark.

The state of the fight against music piracy: Sony BMG hinders music pirates with protected CD

Users will be allowed to make three additional CD copies for their own use and to store the music files on their computer in a protected format from Microsoft.
...
The copy-protection technology is also far from ironclad. Apple Macintosh users currently face no restrictions at all. What's more, if users go to a Web site to complain about the lack of iPod compatibility, Sony BMG will send them an email with a "back door" measure on how to work around the copy protection.
I presume the "Apple Macintosh" hole applies to all non-Windows operating systems. But that Sony will tell you how to circumvent it is hilarious. It raises the question: Can Sony sue itself under the anti-circumvention provision of the DMCA?
