- and on the note of the Jeremy Look-alike
close but no cigar. That guy looks a little too Italian (for lack of a better descriptor, not any intended disrespect, I lived with a very Italian guy this summer, so I wouldn't intentionally offend anyone). But he seriously looks like a Gino or something. I think that's the difference: the French vs the Italian. That and look-alike is far more put-together and presentable. ;) haha, Jere, I had to!

So... if Olivia Newton-John married John Wayne, divorced, married Wayne Newton, divorced, and married Elton John, her name would be...

Okay, really, it's alison just in case you were wondering
Anyway, I'm gonna try to make it out to some of the International Week events.
They all sound interesting, and surprisingly educational.
um... one last thing, seeing as nothing came of my question last week,
is anyone interested in going to Big Fish next weekend?
It's the Tim Burton movie with Helena Bonham-Carter (-Branagh-new guy) and what's his name Obi-Wan-Ewan McGreggor. It really sounds like a fun trip. Anyone care to join me?
My dad is snoring so loudly right now... *sigh* I don't think it's escapable within this stinkin' house.

- The last month of curling has been bitter sweet since the long Christmas break. The January 4rth match-up saw the team lose by default after a replacement deserted our heros. The following week the team was determined to make a positive showing and used rage and well-placed frustration to pummel and pound out a 10 - 0 win over an amateur band of biology granduate students. And while relishing a real victory, and especailly over graduate students, had left our team with a certain sense of gratification, a real sense of retribution completed the evening with the severe beating of the so called replacement from the week before.
Determined and resolved for victory, our home team slid out this week to face yet another team of combatants for riches and glory. Unphased by the an absent Angela, the three remaining players continued on with the game on the promise that she would make an appearance so that the team would not lose by default. Facing our team tonight was another group of biology graduate students who seemed determined to avenge their hapless comrades from 2 weeks prior. The tone of the match up was set early as the violent and agitated graduate students tried futiley to gain a footing against our hardened heros. The turning point of the match came with 5 point end that crushed all spirit and sense of self worth from our teams competition. With the score sitting 10 - 0 again in favor of our hero's, all would seem perfect save the fact that the team was missing a female player. Ultimately the decision would lay with the opposition to decide if the home team would leave dejected in loss or triumphant in victory. The evening would be won with the tactful maneuverings of the teams interim skip, Matthew Beckett who, making use of skill, prowess, and a distracting necktie convinced the other team their sound beating was well deserved. Celebrating their victory in front of another sold out crowd, our home team would look to the next game on Feb. 1 at 5:30 to continue their winning streak. Yet in the back of their minds sat the fact that they had been abandoned yet again... and that the last hapless person to do so had been left a bloody mess searching for missing teeth on the ice...

- Sure, I posted it before, but I still think the story is ironic. Essentially, rather than using Kazaa, the entertainment industry used Kazaa Lite to track down copyright infringers. Oops, my bad.

Kazaa Owner Gets OK to Sue Movie, Record Companies
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A U.S. federal court has cleared the way for Kazaa file-sharing software
owner Sharman Networks to sue the entertainment industry for copyright infringement, Sharman said
on Friday.
Sharman, targeted by studios and record companies because its software is used to trade music and
video files, has sought to turn the tables on the industry, accusing it of misusing Kazaa software
to invade users' privacy and send corrupt files and threatening messages.
Studios and record companies had asked the court to throw out Sharman's countersuit, but U.S.
District Judge Stephen Wilson in Los Angeles declined to do so.
Sharman, headquartered on the island nation of Vanuatu in the South Pacific, said it would pursue
the case.
