- Ah, stats lab... so many M & M's . . .
So apparently astronomers have discovered the biggest and brightest star ever... well... discovered. It's called < drumroll > LBV 1806-20. Okay, not a real name, but you'd be amazed what you learn about naming universiality when you Google the name (hence, the link.) There are Russian, German, and more articles. Anyway, here's a picture of the beast, which is far less disturbing than my previous JR post (who was suspended for one game, by the by):

Also, for anyone frustrated by computers recently (Beck, Pete, Zeeth...), BBSpot presents the Top 11 Startup Messages You Don't Want to See:
11. The Department of Homeland Security thanks you for letting us watch you use this computer. ( maybe I should stop making fun of them, I get this message all the time . . . )
10. Deleting all illegal files... 1% done
9. Welcome to Gator OS ( for all you Kazaa-philes)
8. ootsystem32 toskernel.exe is missing or corrupted. Please install this file and try again. ( hmm... I'm pretty sure I used to have an operating system)
7. **** COMMODORE 64 BASIC V2 ****
64K RAM SYSTEM 38911 BASIC BYTES FREE
6. English language module not found. Switching to Klingon
5. Welcome to Mac OS ( I know this is Ed's favorite system)
4. This machine has been assimilated. Thanks for joining the Borg
3. Stormtroopers? Here? We're in danger. I must tell the others. Oh, no! I've been shot!
2. beeeeeep-beeeeeep-beeeeeep
1. Welcome back, Professor Falken. Would you like to play a game? ( I still have to watch this movie)
Well, there's your useless update of the day, kids. And remember, Percy, talk to your folks, or there'll be trouble . . .

- Yay!
Today I got anally raped by Dell, Microsoft, Symantec, and the University of Alberta when the computer crashed and I lost my whole stats lab.
That's not what the "Yay!" is for.
The "Yay!" is for me now owning a completely legitimate illegally cracked copy of minitab
Yay!

- in my defense, I detected some innuendo suggesting that sesame street accusation that had our favourite orange and yellow characters removed from the program entirely. so I though I'd act on it.
Anyway, I still can't believe I haven't seen most of y'all yet... and primarily that I haven't seen y'all on campus... mind you, I just don't have time to make it over to CAB either... grrr!
I need to enlist the help of people who know things about computers and WEBMAIL. I haven't been receiving the e-mails sent to me by a number of professors etc. and unless they've got my contact information wrong or their computers are goofy, I have no idea what I can do to fix things. Is there a way to block messages on WebMail? I haven't changed my settings, but I thought I'd check just in case. Please help!
um... I had something else to say... Guess who's taken up Knitting! haha!
okay this proves it, I'm a total geek.
oh oh! and the bar that was across the street from my house all summer long is in the Sunday Journal (just a picture, no story about my bar). Once I figure out how to create (even the most basic) web space, perhaps I'll post the image.
cheers!
