Learning the art of curling is something many know to be an ripening of age, or maturing process. And tonight could be called a prime example of that. Looking back now at the action that played out for our team at the Granite there are two things I've learned. One, that old guys are really good at curling. And two, that old guys can't count.
As well though, being outclassed, outgunned, outmaneuvered, and being really, wholesomely bitchslapped around by some old guy and his uniform clad minions doesnt do a lot for your self-image.
But never the less, our curlers did curl and tried their damndest to curl out a some sort of win. Pridefully taking a one point first end against an obviously elite team, a solid drumming of end after end of points turned the game 8-1 in favor of the geriatric jump-suit gang. While it may be some peoples opinions that slashing, fights and 4 minute misconducts wont lead a team to victory, I personally dont think I'd play my curling another way. It wasnt till the 6th end that such abhorrent actions payed off in scoring our handsome heros a handful of points finishing of the evening 9-5.
The stirring night of competition left the team a back-injury and a dislocated shoulder. Next week hopefully will give our home team a chance to break the monotonous march of mundane losses in a final game that desides the division they play in.

- Matt, you are hereby banned from watching professional sports games involving Edmonton teams,
due to your uncanny ability to cause them to lose every game they play whilst you watch them play.
Go watch poker.

There isn't enough text here to justify a link, so I'll just put it straight up here:
Fox News Threatened to Sue 'The Simpsons'
During an interview broadcast today on NPR's Fresh Air, Simpsons creator Matt Groening revealed that the Fox News Network had threatened to sue The Simpsons over a parody of the right-leaning news channel. The highly sensitive news organization, which is headed by Roger Ailes, made headlines this summer with an ill-starred lawsuit against humorist Al Franken's book, Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them. The Fox suit was thrown out in court and only succeeded in making Franken's book a bestseller. According to Groening, the Simpsons team refused to cut out the segment, which Groening told Fresh Air he "really liked," figuring that Rupert Murdoch wouldn't allow the Fox News cable network to sue the Fox Broadcast Network, which carries The Simpsons. The Fox News Network did back down on its threat, although it has told The Simpsons creators that in the future, cartoon series will not be allowed to include a "news crawl" along the bottom of the screen, which might "confuse the viewers."Finally, Alison, are you implying in some way that Anarchists are red? Because I have some blue Anarchist friends who are very miffed by your post (I believe their exact reaction was they tossed their scarves over their shoulders and scoffed.)
p.s. (Since I used finally) Coincidentally, I was watching the commentary on one of the Family Guy episodes which I have yet to return to Andy, and it seems that, for some reason, the television show "Small Wonder" came up. I watched this the day after Pam posted about figuring out the show name (I think it had to do with them stealing the "gander-under-frock" joke in the Renaissance Fair episode from "Small Wonder".)
...
Well, I thought it was interesting.

shall we have a funeral for dear Harriet and do her up all nicely? I have paints!
oh, and halloween definitely calls for a par-tay. on all accounts... wherever it is, we should have one!
Funny thing, Jess, your hair grew in the shower, mine drastically shrunk, or that's when I finally noticed how short it truly was. It is now an inch above my bra! (how's that Beck? showers, bras, girls and hair!!!) This is a different sensation... 1 1/4 years ago was my last haircut, and I don't think i've had hair this short since first year... woo hoo! not that it looks particularly amazing since I don't do anything with it, but at least it's shorter.

- After pondering my last post I thought I should let you all know that I do shower more frequently than that... it was intended as a joke, but since my family has forsaken me I don't want you guys avoiding me on the assumption of poor personal hygeine.
Plus... Keri would never stand for it, only once a month
