Queensland to drink waste water

I mentioned this article on a few occasions, but for those who missed out: What image does this headline conjure in your mind?

You aren't alone with that slow usb problem, beck. Some say that they've solved the problem when they re-install Ubuntu with their ipod connected throughout the process. I'm not quite sure I would call that a solution though.

I don't know if anyone noticed/cared about the Faculty of Medicine's probationary status with the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, and I don't know if I should post this before it's official, but I mean, how many people really read this site?

From: Dr. Tom Marrie, Dean of Medicine

I am pleased to share with you that the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry has received verbal notice that we have won the appeal before our American accreditors, the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). This decision is pending official notification by mail within 30 days

w00t.

I hope this doesn't interfere with the improvements they are making to the program (I doubt it will, though.)

Wow. In response to increasing violence at soccer matches culminating in the death of a police officer, the Italian government has instituted new security measures for soccer matches. The "Wow" is for this quote, from the Italian Minister for Infrastructure:

"We have approved draconian measures. If stadiums are not up to code, they will be closed to fans."

I don't think I've ever heard a government official admit to that term.

With respect to the violence itself,
Police initially believed Filippo Raciti was killed by a homemade bomb thrown inside his car, but officials later said he died from severe injuries to his liver, likely after being hit by a blunt object.

The incident in Catania was just the latest to besmirch Italian soccer this season.

The previous week, Ermanno Licursi, director of amateur team Sanmartinese, was killed in a fight with opposition players after the final whistle of a game against Cancellese.

It seems that Italian football has a long way to go, despite its triumphs this past summer. Corruption and violence do not become the sport; one hopes that it will return to its former glory.

Well P, edgy is still doing well for me. I've found only one major problem - that was still a problem from before - and that's that usb seems to be really slow. They're usb 2.0 ports, but transferring my music from my ipod is really far too slow and will take about two hours in total. Although if that's the one fault with it I'm happy... I guess.

For the Champs:

CD: WE ARE NOT CONVINCED THERE HAS BEEN ANY IMPROVEMENT

Artist: Desiderata

Label: Champion City

Rating: 3 1/2

Review: Ever wonder what it would be like to play a game of ping-pong on a carousel? Edmonton's Desiderata inadvertently answer the question with their debut, We are not convinced there has been any improvement. It's a head-spinning collection of herky, jerky guitar riffs, pulsating organs and Blair Drover's "get-me-off-this-thing!" shrieks. (Honestly, he sounds a little like Black Francis of The Pixies.) Highlights include the scribbly Girls like guys with armour plating and Why sell it when we can burn it down!, which laments our lack of compassion. "Let's boo the band that brought us music," Drover yowls. Elastic ... europhic ... and exhausting. In stores Tuesday.

Well, the game tonight wasn't a total waste...

Stortini got his first goal...

I'm actually quite pleased with Stortini, the oilers brought him up to start fights,
But he's showing quite the hustle on the ice, there's potential there.

Bergeron, you're starting to slip...
