Yeah I hear ya Alison. I hate responsibilities and freakin everything flying in your face as well. Unfortunately that is what life is all about. These crazy days make your calm days more worth it. Just like today some wellhead figurativly blew up in my face today. Had to rush to get it done. Man I'm going to like those easy dog dongling days now. Well it is all part of growing up...

that sounded lame plus all of us using this board are 20+. We are no longer kids. Get used to doing hard shit and taking on responsibilities.

naps! of course. I knew I forgot to do something today.

Also, use of the word violaceous should be banned. Say purple, you goddamned obfuscating dermatologists.

know what i love?............. naps, right in the middle of the day, they're wonderful, and take your mind off all your responsibilities

know what i hate?............. discovering that you're the only one giving a talk during a departmental discussion course... my prof just sent the e-mail out, i'm going solo, which means my supervisors will more than likely attend, aaaaaa! i hate hard questions!

The nominations are all "Hello-Suprise!" type nominations this year.

Well, eric, apparently the Academy likes it; Pan's Labyrinth up for six Oscars. (Including going up against a Hamilton-Mehta Canadian production for Best Foreign Film.

Surprises on the list, for me anyway:

  • Little Miss Sunshine for Best Picture: I really liked this movie, but I never expected to be nominated for best picture. Alan Arkin and Abigail Breslin are up for supporting nominations as well.

  • Borat for Best Adapted Screenplay: I continue to be astonished by how well-received by the critics this movie has been. Not that I think it's a bad movie, just that I never would have thought it would appeal to both movie critics and the guys who say "very nice" every 10 seconds after seeing the movie.

  • Meryl Streep nominated for Best Actress for The Devil Wears Prada: I haven't seen the movie (though I feel like I was tricked into seeing a substantial portion of it as a trailer), so I'd ask those who have seen it to answer my bewildered "huh?"

I didn't know the "asian thing" was something you could "get down". I always assumed it was something more congenital, so to speak.

Waking Life did suck, but my hopes for Pan's Labyrinth remain. We shall see.

"Canada's New Government®" is awfully insistent on that moniker, even if it means firing emeritus scientists on trivial grounds.

man, I had free tickets to see Pan's Labyrinth last wednesday... but sure enough it coincided with the one evening of the week I have my work meetings. I am still a little pissed about that.

Ngz said the movie sucked, but the other asian eric said it was good. Ngz also says Waking Life sucks and the other eric that it's great. If you've seen waking life, decide whose opinion you agree with and go with that.

You're right Albert, that dude is sorely lacking in hurricane sabers. And he doesn't look nearly bad-ass enough.
