When I tried listening to that jingle bell rock track I inadvertently opened two instances of Mplayer and immediately thought you were completely nuts. Then I closed one of the Mplayers and you returned to normal status.

Why is this version of jingle bell rock (mp3) so enjoyable? Am I just completely nuts?

(Full story, which you may want to read before listening above, here.)

So, if "Edmonton Handshake" ever firmly entrenches itself in the lingo, is a clever euphemism for biting off part of a guy's nose next?

Well, I believe I have just experienced the flipside of the old story of the car breaking down the day after my warranty expires. The old (read: nearly two years) iPod has cacked. The good news? My warranty expires next Saturday.

Merry Christmas, Paras. Sure you're iPod-less for two weeks, but getting it fixed is free!

I'm too lazy to write up something new. So if you got the email, it doesn't matter; your complaints of duplication have fallen on deaf ears (besides, I've bolded the important bit):

Hello fine people,

So, no doubt many of you are wondering, how can I make the most of gorgeous [insert weather forecast here] weather we're going to have this Saturday afternoon?

Well, you may sleep well tonight, friends, knowing that a way out of your dilemma has been found! It's a little-known game called hockey (rhymes with tick-tockey, I believe).

Hockey is any of a family of sports in which two teams compete by trying to...

All right, bullshit aside, this Saturday (the 23rd of December), at 2:00 we shall be playing hockey on the street, putting a new twist on a classic game, as it were. The location is in front of the old Gauthier place. (Which is, of course, at 4119 - 126 Street.)

Now, if you wish to partake, I need a tiny favour from you (well, maybe two). First off, let me know if you can make it (and if you're convincing other enthusiastic friends who I have disgracefully left off of my email list to make it).

More importantly, though, I'd like to know whether you have any sort of goaltending equipment (specifically pads, blocker, glove.) We've taken care of goalsticks and the nets, but we're in need of the other goalie equipment. (Also, I guess, on the same front, if you have extra sticks, or if you need a stick, let me know as well; perhaps some matching can be done on that front.)

If you need more info, hit that little reply button email me, or give me a call at 435-5571; I've got nothing better to do for the next two days.

Thanks, all, and hope to see many of you Saturday afternoon.

(Oh, and Al, incidentally, I don't have your email address (well, except the old ualberta one.) Wanna email me the new one? Thanks)

I'd surely chip in a cool million to see that thing run around destroying things for 4 minutes.
