Yes, the Airing of Grievances and Feats of Strength are gonna be brilliant. The Festivus Pole, and likely Festivus Miracles, likewise.

Upside Mii

Speaking of upside-down (? I'll let you decide if that segue works; my initial feeling is probably not.), I recently had some money dropped in my lap by the English Department. For 60 hours of work that I apparently did. For a two-week period during which 60 hours of work on top of school would have killed me.

At first, I thought it was payment for another project that I'm starting; seeing as we just finished the paperwork on that a few days before I got paid. I thought it was odd that I'd get paid so soon, so I asked the profs working on that project. Turns out they expect I'll get the "prepayment" for that by, oh, February. So, that meant it was probably aberrant Streetprint pay.

I get that mistakes happen. I've made one or two in my day. Even mathematical errors. Of course, none of that really explains this email:
Hi Paras, It looks like you were overpaid by 51.5 hours on November 11.

Naturally, there are people here more experienced with accounting errors than I. To them I ask, how does one turn "8.5 hours" into "60 hours"? Some crazy mathgick, I'd imagine, no?

I'd really enjoy all this fancy number-crunching, too (no doubt the knocks on the English department's math skills would be flying), if not for the fact that I have to pay the money back; and I have to wait for them to figure out how much they have to undeduct from the cheque so they know how much I have to pay back. Damn.

so... you ever get this feeling that half way through doing something, you finally know what you're talking about? ... yeah... that's how I felt about my presentation... others thought i did fairly well...

And in other news, my car got stuck... in my neighbour's driveway... and then, in the subsequent attempt to get it free, i think the engine short circuited, and now i can't turn it on, or even apply the breaks to shift gears into neutral for the good ol' heave-ho... And so, it sits... in my neighbour's driveway, 15 feet, if that, away from its parking home, and i'm probably looking at $500 to $1000 worth of repairs etc. to make it run again. just when i thought i was free of expenses for a while... arghh! oh, and AMA's running at least 3 hours behind schedule, so it could be 9pm before they even come to rescue me...

ahahahaha

Now I will recede back to my secret base so I can nurse my aching head. My dog alarm pulled me from my tactical dream session at 05:00. Damn these disturbances, how dare the world bother Mr. Vinnie the Unforgiving.

Al speaks the truth.

I have felt this truth.

Let us never speak of it again.

Al, it's never too early to go drinking and drinking on an empty stomach just means you're gonna get drunk faster.
