At my work, the other in-house artist has a binary watch. Yes, it displays the time in binary (as a sequence of LEDs that are either on or off). It takes longer to figure out the time than it does for the time to change.

Download the big file, and the updater. Unzip and install the big file but do not run it right away. Unzip the updater to the same directory as the install and run that exe.
While it's updating register a master account and a game account on the website.
Go into the program files directory where it installed and delete the file obscene-e.bat
Now you should be able to play for free. Let one of us know if you're online via msn or something and we'll invite you into the clan.

Congrats, Jess. I wish I had a job... uh, that paid me more money than I spend in a given four month period.
And, as a final thought on my rant, I guess my point is that the outcome punishment is bad if you're, in your example, trying to eliminate the cutting down of trees. But clearly I am not as wise as Colin Campbell.

How tantalizingly close we are... last night I unloaded about a hundred or so boxes of Nintendo Wii from the purolator plane. I'd better be able to get one as soon as they're on sale, I mean, am I not responsible for everyone getting one now?

So, in case any of you are wondering, the value of a BA is exactly $1/hour. (I just got a job and they're going to pay me an extra dollar an hour because I have a degree.)
In regards to the hockey injury decision - according to Karen Blixen who wrote Out of Africa (an autobiography of the time she spend farming in Africa, which differs greatly from the movie of the same title) the Kikuyu's (a tribe in the area) punishments for crime depend on outcome, not intent. So, if you lie in wait in a man's home and slit his throat, you will be punished the same as if you were cutting down a tree and it happened to crush a passing stranger. Usually some sort of transfer of resource was involved (ie a number of livestock), and the reasoning was that the family's suffering would be equal in either case, and so should their compensation.

Wow. Off the Hook: League decides not to suspend John-Michael Liles.
What really surprises me is this justification from Colin Campbell:
"The history of the player shows this isn’t something he’s done time after time, and there was no serious injury to Ryan as far as the knee.
The time of the game, this was not an instance where he was trying to get Ryan back for an earlier hit. It was just the play itself. He was trying to stop Ryan from getting past him and scoring a goal."
And then they wonder why players continue to get hurt on dirty plays. Seems as long as you're not Bryan Marchment, you can knee-on-knee all you want, and it's just your misfortune if the other guy gets hurt. This is not deterrence. This is handing out suspensions to compensate for injury. And the NHL should not pretend otherwise, if this is the mentality behind player discipline.
Robin Brownlee interprets this the same way as I do, but, amazingly, agrees with the justification:
Had the hit by Liles put Smyth on the surgeon’s table for knee surgery, he would be looking at a suspension. It didn’t and he isn’t.
...
Campbell got it right."
One wonders whether Todd Bertuzzi's sucker punch and takedown of Steve Moore would have merited a suspension at all, had Bertuzzi not had the "misfortune" of breaking Moore's neck.
EDIT: Here's The video:
