Wait...is Cal gone for Christmas? Is he doing this thing for Sylvan learning center? And how come I'm the last to know? Your friends know before me.

One of my co-workers has some mysterious disease that has to be treated by a strange cocktail of cancer, crohn, and other diseases drugs. The thing is she is so optimistic and happy that you would not figure that anything is wrong with her. She carries on as if nothing was wrong. Though every six weeks she has to go get her treatment. So what am I trying to say? Stop complaining about your life, it aint that bad... Who am I kidding? I'll complain until I can't complain anymore.

Supporting AD theory that corporations should be the only ones paying taxes

$36 billion in bounses between 173,000 people is around 200K each. Makes you wonder why the hell we are still doing our lame ass job. And yes this is their bonus not their salary. So on top of their huge salaries they are getting more money.

the rest of my leg is fine, and i've now simply got localized pain, instead of radiating... all other muscles work hunkey dorey... and this one seems to be improving, i can climb some stairs at normal speed again, and putting on my pants this morning didn't involve me lifting my leg as though i was a puppet. how's that?

i've been putting heat pads on it in the hopes that, if i've stretched something, it'll respond better being warm and loose than cold and tight... and things seem to be getting better, slowly...

Thanks for the advice. It's hard not to favour my leg, but I'm trying, and the sleeping, i think, made a difference, i'm less stiff this morning.

sweet, i like this. we have our own advisors on here... for almost all major disciplines and physical ailments!

oh, and Leo, I'm disappointed... you're coming up to e-town, and I'm going north to Grande Prairie. So, I'm not going to see you. I do hope you have a great time with everyone else though.

Overstressed would explain the pain and the weakness if it was acutely weak, but it would be ok by now if it was that. How about the rest of the muscles in your leg?

yeah, i'd debated that... could i just have over-stressed the muscle? i can't lift my leg high enough to climb stairs most of the time

Alison, it could be that you pinched (compressed) a nerve in your hip while you were walking, it would explain the weakness and altered sensation (ie pain) Try to walk with a normal gait pattern and keep any weight you're carrying at your centerline (ie no side bags) as well as an upright posture. I would also suggest either sleeping on your back or with a pillow in between your legs if you sleep on your side. See if that helps

and on another note, I'll be coming up to Edmonton for the long weekend so yeah, lets do something

The Clumsiest Hockey Writing Award has to go to Pierre McGuire, for this gem:

Jarome Iginla decided to take over his team's game on Saturday night in St. Louis. He scored the winning goal and he really raised the bar offensively for the Flames. Imagine how special he would be if he was surrounded by a top quality center?

Indeed.
