- As far as proud promotional pushes go, Hills Like White Elephants are pleased to trumpet Paper Tigers, a Baroque piece of pop with rather bare beginnings.

"It started off with a three-piece," says guitarist Chris Blackmore, "but when we took it into the studio we just had an evolving cast come in and we added the glockenspiel part and my friend Janet Cheng came in and did a bunch of violin tracks.

"Eventually we pushed the guitars back (in the mix) and it just evolved from there. It started out as really minimalist, sad-sack guitar number."

Blackmore says the group plans to incorporate the expanded lineup into all future performances, and are even planning a video for the song.

The PM went reading to kids. And no planes crashed into any buildings.

Half interesting to read... especially the bit about our foreign affairs minister calling Korea an island. Almost as impressive as the previous PM's gaffe.

Hi Everyone,
I know that it has been a long while since I have seen many of you, but I figure some of you are always up for a party.

I have started playing hockey again this year and we are having a fundraiser for our team. Tickets are 5 bucks, which entails coverage and a free drink.

When: Saturday Novermber 11th, 2006
Where: On the Rocks (new bar down town)
Why: Because it would be fun
Who: you and a bunch of other people

There will also be a live band : Mustard Smile
So let me know if you are interested. You do have to purchase tickets before that day.
