Ah, so new computer is finally in a state good enough for work. Now I just have to fix that pesky unable-to-play-windows-media-video-version-3 problem, and I'll be good to go.

Oh, happy day. The Oilers have signed Tom Gilbert! Our fervent hopes have been met with glorious news.

... and something about Mr. Rachel Hunter, two years, avoiding arbitration, terms not disclosed, etc., etc.

Really lame attempt at lightening the mode. Apparently Ashley Simpson had plastic surgery done on her nose. I'm pretty sure you can find the before and after pictures yourself. Now she is a dead ringer for Sarah Michelle Gellar... Lame I know.

Par,
If you think the American situation in Lebanon is crap, you should see the Canadian 'attempt'. Jeff's girlfriend is over there, and when they started bombing Beirut, which was where she was staying, the embassy required them to register online to have access granted. Ironically the bombing literally killed the internet there so no one could get access. So we had to register here from Edmonton, this is just so bloody pathetic.

Stem cell bill rejected by Bush. "The simple answer is he thinks murder's wrong," White House spokesman Tony Snow said.

It must be comforting to be able to boil a complex, ethically-challenging and nuanced issue down into such black-and-white terms. (Not to mention being able to pick and choose when to apply the "murder is wrong" philosophy without wasting another second's thought.)
