"sweeeet"

-- After 10 hours, the sum total of all reviews of the new look.

I guess I can call that a success. Or at least a not-failure. Or something.

A quick rundown of what's new:
  • Posting is easier (thanks to ajax and javascript -- though I count on you guys to let me know if this doesn't work for you)

  • Events! If you're logged in, you can add events to the calendar so people can know about stuff going on in the future. Right now, it's mostly birthdays. (A couple of notes on the birthdays: they'll only be displayed once they're less than a month away (so if you're not on there, that could be why), and I apologize if I've missed you; my only source of research has been searching for the keyword "birthday" on the board.)

  • Personal events! If you need a reminder of something that you don't need/want to share with everyone, you can put it on the calendar as a personal event, and only you will see it when you log in. (So far I've used it for exams, but that's about it.)

  • Images: If you're logged in (sensing a theme here?), on the top bar you'll notice a link called "manage my images." You can upload images to link to in your posts (to a max of 2Mb. I hope that's enough).

I'd point out that most of this stuff is in beta. I've been testing it for a couple of weeks, and I think it works, but please let me know if something isn't working or if something is confusing. This isn't around just so I can be self-satisfied; it's for you guys to actually use. So if it doesn't work for you, it's not complete yet, and I am more than willing to put in the work to get it done.

Par just because your going to be a doctor doesn't mean you can rub it in our faces. Fine I accept the fact that you can buy a Audi A3. But as a friend I have to tell you to get the Audi Quattro TT. It's ass kicking potential is thru the roof!

Well I don't really see a point about talking about motorcycles, since when I try to talk about cars none of you seem interested. The several times I have tried I basically talk to myself really. I don't think forcing people to talk about something will necessarily get them to talk about something. We all have our own interest and if it doesn't happen to coincide with someone elses interest then that is fine. I think a better strategy would be to respond to other peoples post and get them interested in talking with you. When people are interested in making conversation with you, then you can get responses.

Hmm... apparently if you request information on the Audi A3 from this page, they send it to you on a 32MB USB stick. Could be handy...

this is motorcycle talk. i don't want to hear any crap about vespas.-this is a pre-emptive strike against those effing fairy-wagon scooters. don't worry, if you wanna suck a bag of dicks, there's plenty of room for a HUGE bag in the storage compartment on those vespas, just don't waste OUR time with it, that's all.-don't dink and drive.
