Advance Workers for Bush Impersonated Reporters:

A Mississippi couple whose home was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina said two men who later identified themselves as Secret Service agents pretended to be Fox News journalists when surveying their neighborhood in advance of a March 8 visit from President Bush.

Ok, that's not so weird, right? I guess Secret Service pretending to be reporters could be argued as being within the job description. Somehow. But wait, there's more:
Tom Mazur, a spokesman for the Secret Service, said he did not know who the men were but they were not Secret Service officials.

"I checked with our people down there in Mississippi who were involved in the advance, and it was not Secret Service people who identified themselves as members of the media," Mazur said. "We wouldn't do that."

So, they were pretending to be Secret Service agents pretending to be journalists. I remain unconvinced that there's a satirical line which these guys won't cross.

Clark if this is one of the few times you actually check this message board then go here:

JDMimports

I think you already know abut the 15 year rule Canada has about cars. If not the coles notes version is if a car is over 15 years old no matter what condition it is in you can import it in without having to have Canada transportation look at and certify your car. Thus you can import in a 15 year old GT-R without having to pay a fee to have it inspected. So going back to my link, if you scroll down a little you'll see a Nissan Silvia for sale for around 10,000! I know you were looking for a 240 or a 300 so I don't know.

Also if you look you can see a GT-R for around 17,000! Man should of got a skyline instead... Well too late now. Midlife crisis car I suppose.

I dunno. I think RED is pretty lame sounding... capitalism isn't always the best answer (though it may tap into a compassionate consumer or two who could direct spending towards those items instead of, say the other GAP t-shirt they were thinking about).

I mean, if you really want to give money to help get rid of AIDS in Africa, why not give it to an organization directly, instead of buying something and sending only part of your money to them (and through all the sorting/paperwork/bureaucracy hoops)? The Stepehen Lewis Foundation would get more of the money you spend, and therefore put more of it towards erradicating AIDS.

I'm not sure how I feel about Bono though. I mean, is this one of those 'rockstars shouldn't get involved in politics' things, or is this simply against Bono, in the way that many people react against, um, Bob Geldof? 'cause if it's a rockstar thing in general, you have to get on the case of Zack De La Rocha and pretty much all of Rage Against the Machine... plus The Beastie Boys, plus all kinds of other people. If it's because Bono is going after mainstream causes in mainstream ways... well, what do you expect? he's a pop artist, trying to use the his popularity as a vehicle for making change, even if it is middling change. you have to give him credit for trying to do something other than simply sell albums with his fame. And no matter what people say, this certainly is a better (for the world) use of his energies and spotlight than making clothing, perfume, shoes or whatever else other popular artists do. Plus, he's bringing greater media attention to things like the G8 summit (on topics the media don't usually bring to prime time news). Sure, there are wiser ways to go about it than RED, but since I can't come up with anything... at least he's got something.

Snow sucks, especially when it is taller then the ground clearance of your car. Low clearance; good for cornering, bad for driving in winter.

I'd also like to comment on the time warp I just recently experienced. I believe there is something wrong with the fabric of the space-time continuum. I just spent an hour shovelling outside. But it didn't feel like simply an hour, it felt like three. Where is the justice? I spend what felt like almost my entire afternoon shovelling, yet barely any time went by... but when I take a shower that feels like only ten minutes, I'm sucked into the hot water vortex for at least 30.

the only thing I can think of is that frozen water slows time down, and hot water speeds it up...
take that, physics!
