If my sprained ankle holds out, I'm up for some sort of something tonight. I was thinking the ever popular Halo. that is unless someone else has a better idea...

Fan video for an acoustic version of 'Apparitions'. It's a fairly simple concept: a montage of all their/his past videos. I'd say it's worth a peek.

All right, I'll get it out of the way. No way, Jose!

...

I feel so dirty.

The banned substance is allegedly a masking agent, and one that is used for "hair growth." The Habs say there's no performance-enhancing quality here. (Poor guy. Drug test and baldness revelation all in one day?)

"I can't wait for the four-player version."

Hmm, I was just thinking about it, and I shudder at the thought of how bizarre and varied a body of knowledge one requires to actually understand me. I've really got to stop pulling shit out from nowhere. I mean, next I'll be relating the coaches of professional sports teams to characters from 1984. And no one wants to see that.

(What? I can quote myself. It's totally acceptable. See?)

I just can't remember who... Jon Stewart, Par...

Haha. I must say, though, that seeing as you actually remembered (and, possibly, understood) what was said, I'd give it to Jon Stewart.

Chessboxing:

The basic idea in chessboxing is to combine the no.1 thinking sport and the no.1 fighting sport into a hybrid that demands the most of its competitors – both mentally and physically.

In a chessboxing fight two opponents play alternating rounds of chess and boxing. The contest starts with a round of chess, followed by a boxing round, followed by another round of chess and so on. In every round of chess the FIDE rules for a ´Blitz game´ apply, in every boxing round the AIBA rules apply with the following extensions and modifications: In a contest there shall be 11 rounds, 6 rounds of chess, 5 rounds of boxing. A round of chess takes 4 minutes. Each competitor has 12 minutes on the chess timer. As soon as the time runs out the game is over.

I can't wait for the four-player version.

"Last week George Bush surprised analysts by saying that the US was addicted to oil and should greatly reduce imports from the Middle East. The US now plans a large increase in nuclear power."

you would think, typically when people admit to being addicted (and I am copying this from someone, I just can't remember who... Jon Stewart, Par... I dunno...) to something, the admission is also meant as a means of seeking help to drop the addiction, not switch dealers. Watch out Canada, here comes George W!

Thanks for the uplifting news, Tony, it is good to see that some people are making progress. Great Bear is exciting, and it's here at home... and, well, so long as Sweden doesn't jump to burning coal or copious amounts of wood for their heating and electricity (can anyone say pea soup smog??), everything should be okay for them, we just need to follow suit. and not let those fuckers in the states suck up all our oil and natural gas
