Oh, and another one bites the dust, as it were. I don't know why, but my dad's been anticipating this forever.

So much for the better relations with Washington: New Canadian PM rebuffs US envoy:
Canadian Prime Minister-elect Stephen Harper has defended plans to send military ice-breakers to the Arctic in defiance of criticism from Washington.
US ambassador David Wilkins said on Wednesday that Washington opposed the plan and, like most other countries, did not recognise Canada's claims.
Mr Harper said his mandate was from the Canadian people, not Mr Wilkins.
Mr Harper's Conservatives have promised to defend Canada's northern waters from claims by the US, Russia and Denmark.

[Hot Cross is] of the first of many Level-Plane bands I really got into. Derived from members of Saetia (probably the most notable screamo band of all time), Hot Cross is on top of their game. A little known fact is that the drummer (which was also the drummer for Saetia) was one of the original members of Interpol

Is Stephen Lewis that jewish dude who's like the AIDS envoy in Africa for the United Nations or something? Am I even thinking of the same guy?
If that's the guy you're talking about, then yeah... he also took Oprah to Zambia once. And he says Condoleza Rice (how the FUCK do you spell that?) is like a celebrity in Africa.
No, seriously. Go figure.
