hey Jesse, no worries on missing Cadence- i talked to Rollie yesterday and he said he's actually only going to be DJing (folky stuff too in accordance with the show) and will not be rapping. so you won't be missing much. good luck with that game.
but yeah if you, or anyone else would care to familiarize yourselves with Akron/Family goto HYPE MACHINE
http://hype.non-standard.net/
and search them. the site will give you a listing of all the mp3 blogs that have posted tracks from them and you can either listen to those songs on their online music player, or you can ReadPost and check out the actual Mp3 Blog where the mp3 was originally posted (and probably still available for download). Hype Machine's a seriously dope resource and if you're looking for any new music from any band you've heard recently i suggest you check it out.
but you don't have to take my word for it

hmmmm. Ings and Tay, I took your advice and bought a ticket to Acron family. And my buddy Craig also bought one. Even though neither of us know anything about this concert. other than the hype I have recently heard about Cadence weapon. Unfortunatly the concert is also on a tuesday, which is also the same night as my soccer games. and march 7th isn't just any soccer game, it is against the 1st place team, whom we are attempting to take out. it is not a game I can afford to miss. so I will either have to bail on the concert, or more likely, go to the game, and miss cadence weapon, and hopefully catch the rest of the show.
I'm also going to controller controller as well as the we are wolves show if anyone else is interested.

hey, so a friend of mine made a rather interesting statement:
even if you don't care enough to vote for someone in particular (because, let's say, for example, everyone in your riding sucks), get out there to the polling station and vote... for anyone, for everyone, do whatever. Just get out there and go to the polling station. Even if all you do is spoil your ballot, at least you'll be registered. And that's the most important thing for all of us young people out there. Canadian politics won't pay attention to the interests of youth until we prove that they need to. and until we get out and vote in large numbers, that won't happen.
If, on the other hand, you're actually looking for information on who to vote for, because you feel like voting for real, The Council of Canadians has some interesting information in their election voter's guide, comparing all the major parties (more than just the four on the televised debate) on particular issues of concern ranging from childcare to the environment.
My friend also has the good fortune of knowing that every vote counts, so don't vote strategically, vote for who you actually want to see win. you might just be surprised. She won her town council elections by 12 votes, that's it. The guy you want to win might actually do just that, if you go out and vote... you never know. Besides, parties that get at least 2% of the valid votes cast (or 5% of the votes in ridings that held their candidates) get $1.75 per vote per year (get more info on that here). So go say something with your X.
So, in summary, GO VOTE!! this Monday, January 23rd at your local polling station. Bring two pieces of id, and all the panache you can muster. though, remember: SPOIL THE BALLOT IF NONE OF THE CHOICES LOOK GOOD TOYOU!
