Thanks everyone! I had a great time. It's alright for not showing up, I understand.
As for those ualberta accounts don't they encourage you to replace it with a forwarding address? X@ualberta.net? I thought they said it's for life.

Alison,
I think Alumni keep their @ualberta addresses indefinately. I got a letter the other month informing me that I still have a bear tracks account just in case I ever need to update my information or enroll in another class. And I graduated 3 yrs ago. But if you want to know for sure I would contact the Alumni board. But I am pretty sure i still have my @ualberta address. I just don't remember it.

U of A is kind of slow at removing old accounts like that. I say about 1- 4months. Lost mine in october. They'll usually give you a warning message and other information about putting a message so people can send e-mail to a more current account.

so, how long after one is finished being a student/employee of the U of A does one usually have their _@ualberta account? I just logged in, for the heck of it, and it still exists. This is well over the standard four months of operation that I'd expected. No one of any importance sends me stuff, so it's not the end of the world, but weird all the same.
and then, I'm hopefully returning, so it seems almost futile to get rid of the addy for a couple months... but I don't know if that'll happen or not anyway.
Does anyone know how to make it have an automatic response like "if you'd like to get ahold of me, please use the following address instead" ?
