so, uh, that fortysomething post was me. I forgot to log in... oh well.

But I'm logging in for this, because it's excellent.

A brief article on taking a polygraph for a job with the US National Security Agency: I Sexually Harassed My NSA Polygrapher.

I think this is why overthinkers get in trouble... "don't let your mind wander" hah!

I know how you feel Al. As a pedal biker, without any if that fancy power you've got, the only hope I have for surviving Toronto's streets is assuming everyone else is completely oblivious to anyone else one the road. Nobody on Toronto's streets care for anything other than where they have to be next. When they do acknowledge each other, everybody hates everybody because they are in the way. The roads are a hostile place I've come to accept the way people drive here for the most part. Though I have to say I still love riding my bike on the streets here, I almost never love driving. It is miserable. I understand why nobody gets along in cars. When you are locked in your protective bubble, everyone in the outside is a threat. Which is why we should all be on bikes. I believe the more people on bikes of either sort on the roads is the only way to make the roads safer for bikes and warhorses. Keep your head up.

the other thing that would make the road safer, at least for me, is not stealing the lights off my bike when it is parked downtown.

Rant time

This is to the women who did cut me off as I was riding my warhorse today. This was on 66 street and the overpass of whitemud. I knew you weren't looking as you were trying to merge on the overpass onto 66 st. I was on 66 st two blocks back and I could tell you would be one of those drivers who didn't check well enough and you were going to give me trouble. As soon as I approached I could tell you weren't checking and you were going to go, so I counter steered as you entrered my lane and laid on the horn. Even after 5-10 times you did not repsond, you only noticed when I was right beside your car. Now my old grizzled biker dads would tell me to kick your door or leave a mark to make you remember, I was angry and still am. But no just gave you one final look checked the lane beside me and carried on my way. My advice to you, make damn sure you are able to merge before doing so, not every novice rider has the street sense to know when there is trouble coming. One day this will catch up with you and next time it might be a semi barrelling into you instead of a nimble bike that can get out of the way.

Rant over
