Hey, have any of you guys heard of Octoshape? Apparently it's a Flash player add-on that uses other users' computers to transmit signal to your reader (like torrents, I'm assuming).

It seems like a really weird application, but also really useful for streaming media.

It looks like it is going to look like a thinner version of Mr.Copperplate.

There is a free scotch tasting today at Vinomania (liquor store on jasper ave) from 12-4. with 15% of scotch purchases. I'm probably heading over around 3ish. want to learn something and get my dad a gift. Anyone up for some fine drinking?

Well frankly I guess I should push harder or I would be letting at least two people down:

Hello friends,

You may have noticed that a certain asian engineer’s upper lip has gotten darker, and you may have wondered if it is dirt or that he forget to shave? The answer to your questions is that he is hopelessly trying to grow a moustache to raise funds for a cause very dear to his heart. What event you may ask could cause him to do such a thing? Well recently a very close friend of mine was diagnosed with stomach cancer and just before the critical operation was to be performed he married his childhood sweat heart so that he would have something to fight for. In another instance a cousin was diagnosed with cancer and is still struggling with it. I for one don’t want anyone to close their eyes on a operating table hoping the next time they open them that they can see the love of their life again, nor do I think that we should think that we have to struggle alone. So I ask you my friends to please give what you can so that together we can give hope for a future where no one has to struggle alone or die needlessly.

Movember

Thank you for your time,
Albert Yeong

Not to mention a production company named after a Simpsons reference.

What can I say, I'm a sucker for the parody hard-boiled detective. I love loved the recent Venture Bros. that did it, cheesy though the parody was.

THAT explains this oh so well... I was bored and wandering through Flickr today when I came across the following:

IMG_0564
IMG_0582
IMG_0580

At the time I was looking at those three, the photographer hadn't added any tags, and I am living in a pop culture void, so this Rally to Restore Sanity was completely off my radar. ... and therefore a protest with those ^ signs in DC made little sense to me. I mean, it makes perfect sense, it's about time people actually said something about the nonsense coming from the tea party, but to have that many people organised enough to make signs that say "this is a sign", well... that takes a bigger force than I could think of...

The Roar of the Crowd
Seriously, this is a lot of people.

Rally to Restore Sanity Signs
I found Waldo!
Apparently Where's Waldo was being played at the same time... there were multiple Waldos in the crowd, from the photos...
