This landslide in Quebec is just insane.

places on flat ground shouldn't just sink in and shift 30+ meters all of a sudden, out of the blue.

They say it's 'cause the underlying clay sediments get saturated with water and in turn become fluid, shifting everything on top of them. Super scary.

Well when I move out it would definitely take the pressure off me to think of something to cook.

But the cursing will definitely not help with my swearing issue.

Couldn't agree more to having an external HD. It saved me a fair amount of grief when I started to hear the "Click of Death" from my internal one at around this time last year. (I got a WD 640GB from Costco for $120.)

And alluding to a previous post, Alison's take on an Italian pronunciation of "Hummer" is mostly right; there'd likely be a vowel sound hanging off the end of it, like an "e" or so.

Another little aside (Paras, you'll know this one): "Hummer" in German means "lobster".

I thought you'd like it, Albert, even if you're better than zombies. :)

oh, and on a completely unrelated note, my external hard drive was one of the best purchases I ever made. ... HP can now do whatever they want to my compy and I'll still have all my data. ... I just wish the real hard drive worked the way it's supposed to instead of flashing a warning sign and suggesting that failure is imminent. ... grumble. (but hooray warranty!)
