quick question for anyone and everyone.
telus or shaw for internet? or is there someone better?
as for the motorcyles. They are pretty much the safest vehicle on the road until point of impact. better acceleraion, better braking, better visibility than a car. just don't hit anything. I'd be lying if I said getting a motorcycle hadn't crossed my mind aswell.
mmmm pi!!!

OK, so I know that this is a bit late, but I haven't checked the board in a while...
Al, please don't get a motorcycle. Yes, they are awesome, in a recklessly cool kind of way. Everyone, and I mean everyone, I know that has had a motorcycle has become seriously injured riding it. Lost limbs, multiple broken limbs, deaths.
Maybe that says something about their reflexes...but I wouldn't want you to become part of that group.
And Happy Pi Day!

Seemed to be a pretty stand up guy but I guess stuff started going downhill.
Well just shows there are a lot things you don't know about people.

So, I like Obama as much as the next guy (on this side of the culture wars), but Obama being forced to look at things is pretty funny.

I wasn't trying to create hysteria over new houses, it was just the first thing that came to mind when thinking about calculated risks with better odds of not having bad things happen to you. ... if that makes sense.
I also don't hate leather. But there's something to be said for all those leathermen and the leather subculture that seems to have been at least partially appropriated from "biker chic". Besides I've never met a leather fringe that I liked. ;)
The Yikebike looks cool, but also could potentially mess with a person's centre of gravity vis-a-vis potholes and sudden stops. It certainly gives the impression of a hovering person far more successfully than the Segway, but I can't see it being successfully implemented on city streets (particularly here with all the potholes and gravel, lack of car-driver-tolerance, and illegality of riding bikes on sidewalks). I also agree with Jess: add in a bag or two and the whole premise is shot right out the window. There isn't even room for a handlebar basket!
