Speaking of terrorists though, David Staples collected some of his old pieces on Wiebo Ludwig. A lot of this stuff was news to me. I had previously felt a little sympathy for the guy, but not at all anymore. If you don't know anything about Wiebo, this is a very interesting read:

Interesting article in the Edmonton Journal today about passport and descent by blood. Apparently a country can claim descent laws even though by birth you are born in another country. Which would definitely explain the extra questioning I get at customs.

1)I'm a non Caucasian working in the energy sector.

2)By descent laws I could be a national of Malaysia, note this is a Muslim country.

3)Also by descent laws I could be a national of China a commie country!

Anyways just shows the screening airport security will go through.

holy ugh, it took me 8 attempts to actually convince the keyboard to stay in "US" for more than a minute, or a single tab-through to another window. Oh Windows, despite your many incarnations, you are still so full of flaws... *sigh*

I wish I could've gone MAC, but alas, not knowing if the solo consulting/contracting life is ahead of me, I need something that's compatible with ALL potential software I might need, and MACs just aren't there yet. All the same, this Boxing Day purchase is really pretty and shiny and nice! ... and hellishly cheaper than my now three-plus years old, beat-up floor model.

There are still too many keys on this keyboard. But at least I can now use the ? and ' and @ keys with relative ease! Thanks for the advice folks!
