Not at a regular time interval so he's probally counting down some kind of event. I remember in a taiwan movie called "Silk" that the main anotgonist would count how many times someone had said bad things about him. Maybe Beck is going the other way around and counting down until it reaches zero. Then he will exact his vengance on that person.
