That's a keeper.
We've seen declarative statements like this before (be they "very responsible" or not), and, beyond the sheer humanitarian costs of the operation, I wonder what the long-term repercussions of this may end up being.
I can't say that either armed side of this conflict is the good guy, but hopefully this will bring an end to the violence against civilians, both Sinhalese and Tamil.
(If you've got a few minutes, you can read all about the partly soap-operatic, partly juvenile, but almost entirely tragic 26-year long war here.)
