Now, now, there's still a chance (or so said the man in my television).

Take it easy on the kid, SilverFox316; everybody kills Hitler on their first trip. I did. It always gets fixed within a few minutes, what's the harm?

Easy for you to say, BigChill, since to my recollection you've never volunteered to go back and fix it. You think I've got nothing better to do?

Besides, it's really a win-win for me. Either the Oilers make the playoffs, or I'm right (which, as we all know, is just as riot-inducing.)

Wait, how did this turn into a lose-lose for me? A team that has one defenseman born before 1983, that can't even form an entire forward line of players older than 25, that won't have a single 30-goal scorer, and probably won't have more than 4 20-goal scorers -- is it pessimistic to think this team cannot finish the season going 18-2? It's not my fault they're too young and naïve to know they aren't supposed to be doing this well.
Which isn't to say I'm not going to relish the optimism positive thinking surrounding this team now. I know how fleeting it can be; I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts.
Hell, the Oilers bloggers have busted out Stan Weir! How can you not have fun?

Well now I'm torn... I don't really want to watch playoffs, but I would have the satisfaction of telling Paras that he is, after all, the pessimist.
I guess either way, I win. Go Oilers (or not)!

This seems like it's straight out of the Onion: Aspiring Pol Changes Name To Pro-Life:
A Senate candidate has legally changed his name to Pro-Life and will appear on the ballot that way this year, state election officials say.
As Marvin Pro-Life Richardson, the organic strawberry farmer from Letha, 30 miles northwest of Boise, was denied the use of his middle name when he ran unsuccessfully for governor in 2006 because the state's policy bars the use of slogans on the ballot.
. . .
"I think it's just and I think it's proper to have Pro-Life on the ballot," he told the Idaho Press-Tribune of Nampa. "If I save one baby's life, it's worth it."
Pro-Life, 66, says he hopes to get 5 percent of the vote as an independent running for the seat held by Sen. Larry Craig, R-Idaho, but not everyone who shares his views is thrilled about his campaign.

CBC-TV first in North America to release TV show on BitTorrent:
CBC Television plans to release its Sunday episode of Canada's Next Great Prime Minister on BitTorrent, a file-sharing service that would allow users to copy and share the show.
The release, free and without ads or digital rights management (DRM) software, is believed to be the first release of a prime-time show in North America.
