interesting... I've never heard of Russians working in the art nouveau aesthetic, and yet I find this:

(for some reason direct linking the image isn't working, so I guess you'll just have to click it)

Crazy. I always pegged russians as constructivists and futurists.

I wonder if there are actually a lot of russian art nouveau artists that I'm totally unaware of? I must say, seeing this image really surprised me.

Hey al, I noticed the lines of the lasers look very straight so I'm assuming you're using the line tool to make it? The glow around the laser isn't quite as straight though, and I'm assuming that that's because you're using the paintbrush tool with a soft edge (to get the glow effect).

Here's a nice photoshop trick to help you get straight lines with the brush tool:

Select the paintbrush tool and customize the brush however you want it. Hold down shift and click on the picture where you want the line to start. While continuing to hold down shift click the point on the picture where you want the line to end. Photoshop will draw a perfect straight line in between those two points (and will continue to keep doing so for ever subsequent point you click thereafter until you let go of shift). Also, if you DRAW while holding shift it makes your lines snap to either perfect vertical or horizontal positions.

If you already knew this stuff, then forgive me if I sound condescending. If it's useful to you, then awesome!!!

But yeah, I must say, I think this latest one is one of your best. It looks pretty rad!

Nothing says vengeful, not going to rest until I eat and devour your soul, kill all your family, and wipe you out of existence like the word jihad.

Well how it's been used nowadays. I think when news writers have been stretching for words to describe a "witch hunt" or some other situations like that they just jump buzz words that have been on the collective concience recently. Jihad just happens to be one of those buzz words, with the recent events in the middle east and America. It's on our concience and most "news informed" people have a rough understanding of what a jihad is. So when news writers invoke the word jihad people get a immediate picture of might what be happening. I think it's a little too strong a word for Mr Mulroney's situation, maybe vendetta would be more appropriate.

Alright enough of this brain stuff, back to my "free" day of work.

Which makes me wonder if they shouldn't just give the leap day as a holiday. It only happens every 4 years! Isn't that special enough for a holiday?

Item: End '15-year jihad' against Mulroney: spokesman

This has been like a 15-year jihad against Mulroney and his family by his enemies — led by Mr. Schreiber, enabled by some people in the media,” Robin Sears told CBC News shortly before a press conference in which he and lawyer Guy Pratte explained why Mr. Mulroney has refused to reappear before the committee.

Question: Is this just an overreaction? Or has "jihad" become that much of a colloquialism?

You may have seen this already. I didn't think too much of it, but then I kept coming upon the link and some of these are actually pretty funny: garfield minus garfield:

Who would have guessed that when you remove Garfield from the Garfield comic strips, the result is an even better comic about schizophrenia, bipolor disorder, and the empty desperation of modern life? Friends, meet Jon Arbuckle. Let’s laugh and learn with him on a journey deep into the tortured mind of an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle against lonliness and methamphetamine addiction in a quiet American suburb.

I'm not sure if it's funny because you know there's a talking cat missing, but I'll let you work that out for yourself.
