Interesting... I got the opposite reaction. I thought all the calculation made him seem more human, because his motivation was more about Deb, Rita, and the kids. He's no longer an isolated psychopath with no emotions. It even seems to bother him that Dokes has to take the fall for him, but he considers it a necessary evil. I dunno, I found him more emotional and less cold.

I dunno, maybe it was the way he dealt with Doakes, maybe it was all the calculation there (rather than the usual straightforward "he's a murderer so I can murder him"), maybe it was just the visuals. But for a while there, he really felt like the bad guy, and Doakes like the hero in peril.

I didn't get the "evil" vibe from Dexter... what did it?

Without spoiling too much, I think this week's episode of Dexter is the first one where he actually seems evil to me. On one hand, it's strange that that happened at all. On the other hand, it's even stranger that it took nearly two seasons for that to happen, considering he's an emotionless serial killer.

Two episodes left...

1) I really need a programmable thermostat. It would be really nice for this place to be warm when I get home.

2) How the fuck did telemarketers get my phone number??
