I believe the round of immunizations for the non-post-secondary-students born after 1970 will be in January. (I assume that's when I'll end up being covered; I doubt I'll be in town for the current round of vaccinations.)

(Also, concert binge tempting, timing unhelpful, apologies, etc.)

Jess, for those concerts, I will probably buy/pick up tickets this Friday or Saturday.

So... any more interested people have until Friday to tell me if they'd like to join Jess and me in them...

Come on, you know you wanna join us in a winter concert binge! ;)

Hey Alison - I would like to go to all of those shows. I won't even be working evenings and weekends by then! Ho-rah! I'm happy sitting anywhere at the Winspear. When are you getting tickets? Can I come with/give you money?

Makes sense. You just reminded me that I'll be getting a bunch of shots (flu and misc.) the end of this month.

hey Albert,
I have good news and bad news for you:

"Beginning Monday, November 26, Capital Health Region will be on campus at the University of Alberta providing mumps-containing vaccine to students and staff born in or after 1970 who have not had:

• the mumps disease OR
• two doses of mumps containing vaccine

Students and staff who were born in or after 1970 with:

• no history of mumps disease
• history of one or no doses of mumps-containing vaccine
• unknown history of mumps disease or mumps vaccine

should be immunized.
"

The good news being that you'd be included in this cycle of immunizations.

The bad news is that it's only for university students and staff. They're immunizing universities first because we're massive petri dishes, and because all the mumps outbreaks that have occurred recently occurred on campuses. I'm sure if it becomes a bigger issue they'll run immunization clinics for the larger city population. These are all precautionary measures so that people visiting home for the holidays don't bring the mumps back with them... more info here

If you are going to say an event is happening tonight you should probally give a time with that as well. You have to let people know how much they have to panic.

Brilliant. Democratic presidential candidate Chris Dodd submits a question to the Republican CNN/YouTube debate.

oh, I should also mention that Eric is (unless I'm mistaken) partly responsible for that upcoming Hayden show happening.

Speaking of McDougall there's a fantastic show there tonight featuring the Wet Secrets and Spree Park (edmonton/calgary super-group). You should probably be there.

Also, I know the organist at McDougall and I've recently been hired to play drums with her for their sunday services. I played the last 2 sundays there, but I won't be there for the next 2 weeks as I'm playing piano at my own church those days. However, in the future it may become a regular thing.
