Random question for the masses (maybe more acutely pertinent to some): would you circumcise your son? (And, I suppose, why or why not?)

count me in on the cornmaze too.

on another, completely odd/nerdy alison note:

I'm soooo excited. ... there's currently pink (like little girl/grapefruit pink) juice collecting in my canner pot, so that I can hopefully make myself some crab apple jelly... woo! ... not that there's much juice, but still... woo!

maybe I'll get some more apples from my aunt tonight (nerd!)

Congratulations Beck and Keri!!! And, uh, welcome to sleeplessness, I guess.

Pam - I will have to get back to you on the cornmaze thing. Next weekend is a busy one. Again. I think I need to work fewer hours....

Parenting tip from experience #1:

If your newborn baby sleeps soundly from 5pm until midnight... you will not get him to sleep again until at least 3am.

Old business:

  • Congratulations, Beckettses!

  • Pam, I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it, but I'd really like to, so I'll let you know.

  • New business:

What the fuck is going on in this province?
When Chrapko began work on the royalty panel, he went looking at that basic accounting data about provincial royalties. He was "horrified" to discover the Alberta energy department has no accurate records of how much royalty money is owing compared to how much is actually collected -- which means there's no way to find out if the department has collected the right amount over many years.

Hey Pam, if I wasn't clear at the Beckette's house, I am 90% sure I will go to the corn maze on the 29th.

    Thanks

    woo Matt and Keri! Congratulations!

and welcome to Earth, Little Nicholas!

I'd come over and say congrats in person, but I still have a cold, and I don't think the hitchhiking germs would be appreciated.

Thanks AD for passing on the info. Thanks Ed for letting the dogs out so they weren't locked up so long. We are indeed home, and do have in our possession one Nicholas Geoffrey Beckett. You are all welcome to drop by at your leisure if you wish, we would enjoy the company after being cooped up in a hospital room for 36 hours.

I have been asked to pass on the following information...

This morning at 2:59AM Keri gave birth to one Nicholas Jeffery(sp?) Beckett. He was born at 7 pounds 4 ounces and apparently quite healthy (he's a shreeker)! They are at the Grey Nuns in room 3311 and are asking me to pass on that all who are wanting to come and oggle their baby are welcome.
